:D Felt good to get out after watching the strait all day.

Westerly finally came up at about 4:30.

Light at 11/12 knots at first but the "grunty" 12m Rise and small Zen worked fine.

Good start to the '08 season...finally. The big JP board and 6.5M combo worked surprisingly well. There were 5 windsurfers and 1 kiter enjoying the epic Harrison scenery.... great view of the tons of snow still on the mountains. Cold fresh water.

First time at this location, few guys out at south chestermans riding the waves but the wind was light. setup my 12m and went on the north side of the beach. turns out there was enough wind.

lasted just over half an hour. ripped around and played in the waves.

nice and sunny, but a little light.

Long drive but the sun was worth it, coming out of rainstorm/fog on Malahat: Da wind bringer! Pulled in & things came up nicely, bit heavy handed to start (5.3 mighta been a better call) but wind mellowed after an hour of great waves, this place is sooo gentle, looong gybes down faces, what fun, 100% dipping ducks & a few failed monkeys.

SUN..did I mention SUN :P ? Margaritas were delayed, nice steak & brew tho @Wsurfish's watering hole. JFish back @it, nice 8)

Great day, more wind than predicted, Windsurfish and I had it to ourselves til Dave S showed up complaining of late appointments and not receiving better notice of impending session at cb. Windsurfish and I almost had head on collision, ( he was actually being too polite as he had the right of way). Explain that to DOT when there was nobody around for miles. Also Dr. Juan attempting to become 1st Columbian in space. Maybe tomorrow?

Sweeeet!!! Best flat water session I've had since leaving T-Bay. Went out with Benny who was on his 9m kite. Started out 6.9 for one lap and got blown off the water. Back out on the 5.9 perfectly powered the whole time. The combo with the bigger board and flat water turned into the best gybe training I've had all year. This is the place for beginners as long as the tide is up.... shallow water and the security of getting blown into a bay if things go all wrong.

Arrived late after a stupid meeting at work and a flat tire biking home. Thought I'd missed it since everyone was off the water...turned out they were just done. Fun session. Good wind outside at first, then windy inside and not outside, then windy enough all over for small gear. Some good waves near the end. Sail felt huge today, cold hands again.

Nice session with Kus & Pasta. First part of the session was decent 5.0, with 95% jibe success (some planing MF4), a big improvement given the voodoo chop. Later in the session I wacked something in a wave and put some bottom dings in my board, wierd, didn't see anything. Got holey/gusty at the end: planed in to the beach followed by a long stroll on the strand....

  Had hopes of Evo and 5.0, but watched the wind drop a notch as I rigged and decided to go big. Perfectly powered, great sesh, made most jibes and nearly planed out of a couple (the OMG, I'm still planing and the sail is flipped and I should have concentrated on collecting the rig properly). Might be the only sail for another 5-6 weeks. Still slightly chilly even with the sun - I think it was only about 11 degrees.

:D Fun in the sun today, even got to use my 4.7 for 30 or 40 min. early on then back to 5.5. Much better than yesterday was. The wind was a little more onshore than normal so not great for starboard tack jumps. Smaller WS turnout than expected - where was everybody? The night shift started showing up around 6 pm. I was going to go to Gordo's but Cook St. came up first for a change. :)

Just about gave up on my dear mako and then used the Secret - to put the board in front of me - and it worked - ha ha. Then wind died and kite fell - self rescue. Wow what a swim that is! Kinda nice to start, mellow but steady. Then it got flukey, holey and lame. A few spinny things & tacks to practice getting wet, better than writing reports in the cab of my truck  Warm and mellow enough for no lid today, cold ears :P

Great big gear session, that eventually dropped off. Lots of wind out between Maude/S Winchelsea, but decent enough to get planing even at the beach. Mark/Mike out as well. Tried bogging Mark's new board. Nice !!! The new Ezzy Freeride 2008 is a beautiful sail!!!!!

downwinder S.P to CB. Wind kooked on the way down but still had fun throwing some big forwards. Using 60cm bar and 23m lines w 13 turns on a dime - amazing kite for downwind/wave, never stalls backwards. Thanks Dave S for the ride back ...

Morning session was nice, i was the only kiter! went out on the 9m, was a bit light, but too lazy to go in and rig up. had to work it a bit but nice smooth water and steady wind.

Afternoon, went out on the 12m. more guys out when i first went out but then they all went in. just me and one windsurfer again!

the tide was strong, threw me offguard at first, but just had to rip upwind real hard.

    Awesome day!
