An overpowered and gusty session, that got to test the top end of both my kite and foil. I did find a flat spot up by Cook St, but then I saw the impending front and rain working its way down from Metchosin so decided to head in. Thanks Davey_k for the launch and helping me to get into the water and Aldo for helping get out of the water and the land.

One stupidly OP run on the 3.5 and came back for the 2.5. Crazy gusty, but the waves started stacking up at the point but with lots of kelpy bits. The wind dropped a bit so back on the 3.5 for the remainder. Fun but challenging with the gusts.

started as a great session getting comfy on the foil, great wind for the lake. suddenly i couldn't balance at all and was very frustrated for wasting such good wind with constant crashing. finally when i quit i see the fuselage foot is loose on the mast, dangit! at least i didn't lose it to the murky depths. Little things i need to dial in before i am ocean worthy.

Overpowered in the gusts and hanging on most of the time. Super punchy and unstable and not much fun for jumping. Stopped jumping after a too early safety loop became an unsafety loop. Stayed out for a while but not so much fun fully depowered and sheeted all the way out. Happy to survive the walk back to the launch land area. Thanks Davey K for the support.

Seemed breezy all day at the house and was tired from past 3 days at the Nat. Looked like it may be a few days before windy again so dragged my butt out to the bay for day 4 in a row. Went with the 4m and survived about 1/2hr, huge swells had appeared and it was super gusty. Switched out to the 3m and that was much more manageable. Swell got really ugly and wind blown towards the end so called it a successful adventure and headed on in. The bay delivers again!

I wasn't expecting it to be that windy and good! Grabbed lunch and headed to RB. Looked Phlat but windy on the outside. Chewed the phat with Pete and bwd for a while theorizing the best wing size or was it better at Elk lake? No! It was better at RB. 3.5m to 2m then back to 3.5. Some puckery rides!

Well, nice little bit of the ol "in out" :-)
Had planned to practice some turns on the inside, but the usual crowd of early risers advised 8am was a too late.
Spent a half hour and was about to deflate and go, when i realized it was just clocking around to the SW - so outside i went, and had some fun in the waves.
Would have liked to stay out longer, but the 5m has one of those pinhole leaks i just can't find, and was getting embarrassingly flacid.

GregCan, RobDS and I were hoping hard that the forecasted morning winds would come true. Luckily for me, they did and I got a whopping 15 seconds of foiling fun. The rest of it was just a slog and game of kelp avoidance. A bigger wing, bigger foil, DW board, efoil assist, or more refined skills may have been the keys to lifting in that lull. I gave up and soundly beat GregCan back to the beach displaying my clearly superior slogging skill or superior foil board volume. One of the two.....

Woke up to calm, but with a gale forecast, when i saw the wind line coming in, pumped up the 5m and expectantly paddled out.
A bit of a lunchbag letdown though, as it didn't build as quickly as hoped. Add some pervasive weed, and it was frustratingly a workout.
Wind did build to 20, but by then i was cooked.
Oh well, still fun. Potential for another one this afternoon and tomorrow.

The daughters and their bfs were up for the weekend too, so started out with the wing lessons for them all. Got about 2 sessions in each then it ramped up big time and i called it time to go play myself! Swapped to the HPS930, then went out blasting. Waves started to really get good and are some of the biggest i've seen at the bottom of the lake (3-4') Incredible smoothie waves down near the river, so fun!

The most fun day I have had yet the waves were so smooth and lined up. You could look down a smooth wave for 100 feet or more without any lumps and when that one ran out another was right beside it so fun with lots of turns. Big crew and smiles all around

One of the best RB sessions for me yet! Getting jumping on the new board dialled better. Some floaty ones! Great crew out and amazing swell. Tested my X4 360 cam out in the mellower stuff with the back mount. Shaggy shredding the outer wave trains and RBL sending some good jumps stood out. Oh, and Pepe throwing front flips...

Top notch session with great waves. 1/2 hour of awesomeness then wind backed off so slogged in. Back out on 1099 as it picked up then right back in for the ARTPro 1001 again as the wind was solid 25 knots. Killer rides on big swell with the amazing glide of the 1001. Best session on this foil yet. Just have to keep the speed up. Digging the harness. So easy and relaxing to pinch upwind overpowered heading out starboard tack. Witnessed many WDoc airs. Inspiring. One day.

Arrived for the late shift at 6pm and lucked out with some of the best winds of the day. I think the waves were the biggest I've ever seen them at RB in my short winging career. I spent most of the time in the shelter of Clover working on gybes. First session on my MA1225 and it was great. Apologies to some of the kiters that I got closer to in the big rollers off Clover -- I was kooking out quite a bit and hope I didn't throw anyone off course ;)

Went with some my trusted 730 foil today as it was another really big day and after yesterday I didn't want to mess around trying new gear. Wind was better for a while until gain it died. Felt the fear out there today as there were still massive sets pumping in and the wind was flukey. Really frustrating at times sitting there with no wind a the big sets rolled by. A winger (Grant? Only caught a glimpse) nicely powered when I got there. Blew up the 5 and first reach was good. Wind immediately went fluke with big holes. Ended up way down the north ends. Frustrating to see strong wind just off the beach and it lifted and softened out where I was. Wind finally came in and had a few survival reaches making my way back up the beach. Sweet summer swells with a mid-summer vibe in the sets. Thanks to Idefix for lending me a PFD to enable this non-swimmer to hit the swells as aging caused me to forget my own. Lots of OGs and others in the sets and luckily, I only had one close encounter. Big swells to me and I got some long flagged runs. So nice to have lots of swell and wind power. Kelp was less evident, thankfully. 2nd session winds were a bit more fickle. OP'd on occasion with the 5m and then lulled as the winds took a break.

Classic spring RB. Not crazy windy, great swell, warm, not much kelp! Was ramping up when I left. Had to run off to a Bday party or would have stayed for more! Goat hill was looking like Nitinat with all the colours of sails. Everybody really enjoying the conditions.
