Ross Bay delivers! Started on 3 then switched to 4. Made a bunch of toe side tacks, but not foiling out of them. Hit a good size log, luckily no damage. Same SW swell as yesterday.

Nice afternoon session at RB. Small sail, floaty board combo worked well to wobble out and get powered up on the outside to enjoy the chop.

Had the past few days off the water as was in Calgary. Arrived back in town at 11:30 and was happy to hear it was windy! Got on the water about 2:30. There was a lull when i arrived so went big with the 5.5m and HPS1050. Of course once i got outside, i could see it amping up and heading my way. Stuck with the 5.5 and hung on for about an hour then finally went in and switched to the 4m. Swells improved the entire time and got nicely spaced and smooth for a bit. So good to be back at the RB water park!

Another awesome session. Lots of variable conditions, but also a ton of options. The wind filled up the inside bay up nicely, fun to play right outside the anglers club. Started on a 5m and eventually dropped down to a 4m only to realize that not one, but BOTH my bladders had a slow leak. Tried my best to squeeze every last bit out of the session, but waited too long and ended up having to come to shore at boat speed with a saggy bladder :)

that was a weird one - with nothing forecast, a squall rolled in with all directions of wind, hail, rain and even some sun.
Not one to look a gift horse, i quickly geared up- had to stick close to shore as it had all the earmarkings of leaving as quickly as it came - which it sadly did after only an hour.

Wind was a bit up and down. Arrived and thought I'd be foiling. Then It picked up so switched to twin tip and a bigger kite. 10min in I was cursing my choice but decided to wait a few minutes and what do you know back up to 25ish. All good for the rest of the hour.

Quick lunch session with Grant, Idefix, and Highrocker. Wind picked up as I hit the water and a 5m was a handful. Fun enough, but kicked my stab with barefeet as the reel leash pulled the board back to me. Chummed the water a bit then went in. THE EELGRASS IS BAAAAACK! Damn.

Started at 8:30 and had a nice long session. Started on the 5m than 4m for the middle hour before back to the 5m to finish. Really nice waves and although it wasn't that windy there was wind close to the beach. Nice rides on the outside and able to get a few more foiling tacks on the inside. Cool seeing a humpback go right past the point. Feeling sore for the first time in awhile, must of had an extra bit of fun!

Pulled up to RB and it started pouring rain. Sat in the truck with Sten and watched all the wings make their way to shore. Dropped to about 5kts and then watched it slowly ramp up to 20! Ended up being a great session, swell was a little confused, but got the job done. Found one or two ramps to really boost off of up at the CP. Nailed on Raley that actually felt fully extended out the back and was able to land it nicely - stoked. Lots more wind to start the week!

Bueno Cinco de Mayo! A bit late to the party, but I certainly didn't miss any dances! I followed Idefix in with big wings given the slow build up. Then the winds really showed up and was quickly OP'd. I had a couple of runs beyond Clover, but my 6m and my arms weren't too happy. I decided to just play in the bay where the gusts were manageable. Got lots of short flag outs and I'm slowly building that skill. At the end it was getting too much even in the bay and I was tired so I called it a day to save some ... (more)

A fun session and a little overpowered with the 7m but overall a good time. A great crew out, glad to see CB, Davey_K, Peter and Marcelo.

Wind held off enough that all the people on the beach watching the snowbirds got to then watch MY show :-)
Of course instead of a finely choreographed display of finesse and dexterity, they got what i do - massive breaches and crashes- still a show, so i guess that counts. Had the whole ocean to myself.

Bit too much like last week. Would have attended RBFC but had commitments before and after and Pat Bay was about 20 knots on arrival. Again had the look of a temporary wind and indeed it was. 6.5 and 1010 wouldn't have helped much more as it died to sub-10. Glad I had a few fun runs with the 999 again and the new 5m slick. Very fast and in control, fun even just bombing around with no waves when you go 18 knots or so. Remembered I need to practice flying toe side but wind shut down as soon as I reme ... (more)

Fantastic session with strong wind and only a few lulls and punchy gusts. I am glad I opted for the 12m as it was always there for me as I tried a number of tacks. I am happy to say I got a couple of them with respectable form. Early in my session there was some nice swell walls to ride and slash but as the tide fully came in it got more choppy. I had a number of nice shore-side gybes that were fully powered and are so thrilling as the kite comes around, makes an awesome noise, and pulls me through the ... (more)

looked windy when I got there and I started out really nicely powered. Only lasted about 30 minutes before things got marginal on my 4.0. Slogged for a bit but packed in as I had a limited time window. Came within 2 metres of colliding with a sea lion. Are those things paying attention? Can't imagine a foil impact would do them any good. Whales in the bay. Looked like tweezer had front row seats.

Awesome session. So good I lost track of time. Surprisingly not busy. At one point, I was completely alone. Conditions were 4m 90% of the time. I only went out on a 5m because it was a little wimpy when I started. By the time I left, there were at least 15 wings in the water being lapped by Bobson who was frequently scaring the s#it out of unsuspecting foilers and joggers. Huge pod of sea lions came crashing through like a football team and some whales were in the area too. Awesome

Funky RB. Jumped back on the Omen 850. Smooth and so pitch stable and speedy. Should be a nice combo with the Ginxu 72L in moderate air/smaller waves in Peru next week! Getting excited!

Arrived early, 8:45am and there were 3 Wings out, RBLocal, JustJohn and Gustastic and 2 rigging Dr. MarkyMark and Fray-Fray, oh ya, and me. It was still light inside so I grabbed the 7.0m but 5 mins later some 10-15kt gusts coming through the bay so I threw the 7.0m back in the ManVan and grabbed the 5.2m and rigged it FAT! BikerMatt showed up on his bike, of course and was rigging quick. Got out and the 5.2m was the perfect choice. Ripped around for 30 mins but then it picked up to 15-20kts so came in and ... (more)

Nice to have another weekend session. May westerlies are hopefully here to stay. Greg reported 5.5 through 3.5 (Tweezer) were being used. Pretty good practice session, some OP gusts early on threatened to get stronger in squalls but that never happened. I left at about 2 when the heavy rain killed the wind. Made some close-to gybes, oddly all on the scarier outside where I think the wave helped me stay on foil longer to get around the turn. Felt nearly balanced an in control with the wing pointing the ... (more)
