Got there early afternoon just as a kiter was finishing up. Took me the first half of the session to get my groove back some huge swell and great rides . Solo session ,by the time I saw the white vans in the parking lot I was too tired to continue. Great to be back out in some swell fairly warm and sunny.

Spent the first half on the 3.5 riding swell way downwind with Tweezer. Then it really filled in and the waves jacked up. Intense sailing on the 2.5 with steep XL breaking swell on the outside. Fun but challenging and cut short by a slight wing laceration.

Late to the party but apparently scored wave size, tide brilliant, delayed from epic ski day by wiper exploding off windshield in the downpour/wind battering, that was fun. Wave sets were amazing, best in a year. 4.2/85 nicely (3.7) ragdoll lit to start, then got holey & sadly dropped, waves gone, almost an hour of goodness, gratitude!!

Juiced on the 2.5. Big swells of Clover heading to Esquimalt Lagoon. Bet that will be a utilized downwinder one day. Fast, semi controlled rides with some hi speed breach smackdowns. Somehow survived unscathed even after getting munched in the shore pound coming in. Stoked to pick up my ART PRO 1001 from Seawings tomorrow.

Fun after work session at the home spot with Idefix. Relatively consistent wind and some fun steep chop. Best session I have had here to date and certainly much more manageable than Clover was today. Was able to get some fun flagged out rides on the small stuff. Warmed up enough mid session to practice some tacks, lots of swimming but one fully foiling and a couple of touch and goes. Stoked on the extra daylight after work, awesome to get a full session in.

Better than it looked!
Dark skies, rain squalls and whitecaps clear across the inlet. Perfect cross wind at the launch site on Mill Bay Rd. Only a short window for a late afternoon session. Overpowered for most of it on the 5.0 but no going back. Happy to see Frazermc joining in, nice to have a wingman in that weather. Lost track of time chasing best swell lines, almost missed dinner.

Beeeg Clover! I lasted 1/2hr then pulled the plug. Should have used the 3m (or 2.5!). Wasn't feelin it, tired quickly, never settled in to a groove, and big clover isn't to be messed with. I read the sea leaves and slink, slank, slunk home to wing another day. (sniff, sniffle, wah!)

It was a full plate of mashed potatoes with crumbling steeps - the wind scraping the surface angrily. Junky and a kiter on it early making first tracks, then the full crew arrived. kites and wings everywhere! The temptation to slide to Mychosen for pizza was strong! Will Marty drive us home? Nothing like a good SE to shred a few wings! The sewing machines will be buzzing tonight.

Great session! Forgot my leash, ripped home to get it and on my return ran into BWD and he offered me his MA1000 to try - BONUS! Funny how things work out. Really helped keep up with some of the big fast moving swell. Swell kind of backed off and I had to get home, so called it. Good second shift of guys getting ready to go out when I was packing up. Thanks BWD for the loner.

AJ called it, I followed suit in next lull. Sat there in sun, it came up again & more! Had another hour, dunno why it was so fun, timing small waves, trying backies & monkeys off small bumps. Better waves than yesterday, really nice rideable swell aalllllllllthe way down past Centennial.
Missiles not working, so switched to guns. Then got overgunned! Wish I kept the 7m going as the swell did nothing but improve with the stronger wind.
Lots of grins, hoots and party waves with Tsawassen and two other wingdingers.

New spot for me today. Was heading up to pipers and checking the below optimal latest reports as I headed North. Breeze was pumping as a I went through Ladysmith so I decided to check out Transfer Beach. Slowly died from the 18-20 I arrived to down to 8-10 at the end. Started out on the 950 and switched up to the 1100 when it died. First half hour I didn't fall off the foil and was starting to get quite warm in the sunshine. Awesome day at an unexpected venue!

Launch at 1030 and the wind lulled for 10 minutes on cue. Slogged out, cursing my choice of wing in a crises of confidence. Some hope for it to pick up in the form of a wind line in the distance. Perfect when it arrived and 4M a good choice. Harness line fixations in balance, after slight mod, and able to one handed wing with power. Nice to gybe this lightweight wing! Good show of kites and wings! Better than standing in line on a weekend at Whistler :) .

Took 2 tries - first time paddled through the surf, but by then the wind completely- of course took a while for me to admit defeat, so by the time I did i was 200m down the beach - ie walk of shame.
By the time I got back to the truck, wind had rebuilt, so back out to play in the waves.
Wasn't all fun and games though- it's herring season up here, which means dozens of large, fat sea lions; and while they are typically docile ( we snorkel/dive with them) i didn't want to find out how they would react to ... (more)

Full flat. Took to the water right at the peak of the wind (should have been there about a half hour earlier to get the ramp up). Grossly over powered with half downhaul and half outhaul on the 3.8! Stopped to rig the sail full flat and that was better! Much better! Then spent some time switching boards to varify test results from the south Oregon coast. Confirmed. Thanks to big John for lending my his Goya Pro 3 81! Fun board that! Hung around and milked the dimishing wind as it shifted south and ... (more)

Wow that sucked. whitecaps at CP but sketch launch so went to willows and used my foil drive to get to the wind line to have it die. No wind came up and when I got back to shore I realized I didn't get a good seal on my battery box. So no time on foil and I fried my battery with saltwater. expensive day.....

First day back after 2 weeks off , definately rusty. Hard time jibing in light air ,getting up in the gusts and petering out before another gust to jibe in. Swell was nice but big slow foil not fast enough to catch much. Thanks Mrnorthsouth for waiting for me as I was starting to wonder about people watching me swim and then try on another puff to get going and then swim again after I heard sirens hoping they weren't for me paddled in. Realized my fuselage was loose . At least it was warm ,Frustrating sessi ... (more)

Not a primo wing day. Lots of OGs and elites waiting for wind at Willows. I followed GregCan into the med shorebreak and light onshore wind. Not awesome. I got a few foiling runs, but it was much work. The shorebreak was substantial and the weak wind didn't provide much power to counter them. Finally, the winds picked up a bit and I was well powered playing in the swells by MTI. Then, my wing went flat with that painful pssssss sound. I fully deflated, pulled out my emergency paddle, and whimpered to shore.

Rough one. Was too South but banked on a shift to the West. Fairly windy all day. Picked up after a while to a very steady looking 20 knots SW all the way up the inlet and the sun came out with it. Looked so good I went for a rip out into the inlet off the end of Wain Rd. Turned around and I've never seen it die so fast. Went from 20 to 0 in about 30 seconds. Too hard to paddle abeam the waves in the left over chop but after 30 minutes or so got to shore. About 500m beach walk to Warrior Pt., 500m ... (more)

Windjunky and I headed out in not much but Willows didn't sound any better. Nice, clean swell rolling through that made it challenging to get up in such light air. Definitely found the low end of the 840 spitfire but I was impressed as the gusts were just enough to get up. 2 walks of shame and a lot of patience and I got 2 nice waves. Foil drive and a SUP would have been the better tool.
