1st go on the HA1080. Insane low end. As in WTF?! Better than my MA1475 and it had great low end as well. Was able to make a 3m work with it in 12 knots shockingly. Turns are still good though not as sharp or rippey as a 1225 or 1000. Glide is really, really good. But the ingredient I've been missing most is a wave-oriented foil that will still pump. Woke up early at San P, was evident the breeze wasn't going to push in so got in the truck and headed North to the Spit. Got on the water around 915 had as fantastic 3.5 hours on the water. Great to practice the progression in ultra flat water, can almost stick every gybe and foot swap now, from toe side port to heelside starboard might be my most consistent now, couldnt stick them 2 months ago. All the web indicators showed a hopeful session at Cattle Point. Rup-dog and Bobson were already out and I could see them in occasional flight out close to Chatham. I went out with my 6m and flailed around with no success so I called it a day. Rup and Bob likely sucked the wind supply dry. R and B then decided to practice their light wind tow technique. It worked. I hope this lull is not how 2023 ends.

Cattle Point, looked decent, but knew I needed a sailing buddy, poof Bobson pulled in and we were rigged and on the water, Bobson with a loud whoohoo as he foiled away. Highrocker also appeared and looked interested. Had 30-40 minutes of good sailing, and then took a long run out hoping to find a gust to take me back in and' no bueno! Arrived to 12-15kts 1/2 way to Jemmy Jones but only some gusts up to the yellow mid-channel buoy. So discussed with Rupp-Dogg and decided to rig the 6.0m. Great for the 1st hour then more holes appeared just as H-Rocker arrived, coincidence.? I am not sure. Wind died so we all came in before it got dark as the sky was angry and dark. Please let there be just a little wind tomorrow.

Went out noonish with plenty of hope and got a 30sec flight with my biggest wing. Took a break and gave myself til 2pm to wait for the forecasted winds. The onshore wind was tough. GregCan tried with his 7m and didn't get much. We both waited and 2pm came around and I was the lone winger. I went for a departure pee and was pleasantly surprised with occasional white dandruff at mid-bay when I came out. I got about an hour of fun until it reduced for good. I'll take it!

Great solo session on the Sab 950 and 4m. Crazy how warm it was today, no chill in the fingers with no gloves. Sailed 1.5 miles upwind to Rathtrevor, wind looked to be dying when I got there so I rode the waves home with some long flagged out rides 100m off the beach.

Got on it after late breakfast, supposed to come up later? instead OP 4.2/85 steady decline 4.7&5.0/94 to OP 5.9, 4 sails, 3 boards, almost all gear in use. Sweet waves to start, then decent rest of way. Couldn't leave waves on the table so 5.9/118 combo felt like a bus, then it upped to 5.0 ughh held it for a bit but I was done, thx for beer Dane!

Sounds like I lucked out with 4m being the right call for my pre-work session. Love/hate the 50cm fuse with smaller foils as they get too pitchy and responsive at high speed, forcing me to avoid switching my feet to regular stance. BUT when it comes time to jam a frontside turn, all is forgiven! Still haven't gotten used to the big G's pulled turning a foil hard on a wave without the usual Wah-Pshhh!! sound of spray and board smacking the lip like you would kiting or windsurfing. Arrived to tag in with Windoc coming off and up slope to the peasant parking. Joe from Duncan then pulls in to the less desirable parking spot as well. BWD, TheChomik, Mr.Omen are already out and on it. Some very nice swells and slighty underpowered 4m but still got a 1st session with some nice rides until it eventually tanked outright and we were all paddling in. Afternoon Clover pt session, headed out as the wind dropped, floated around for a few minutes waiting for the wind to return. Had some good swell rides, serious focus needed in the choppy conditions called it as the wind died and avoided a long paddle in.

Looked good when I arrived with a few wingers out having fun. Died as soon as I was ready to launch and the crew were paddling in. So, no blow no go. But 15 minutes later picked up nicely. Scored 2 hours with a 15 minute lull. Way more sane conditions than Big Christmas Monday. Waves were playful and ripable. Felt dailed in compared the Christmas spanking.

I was hoping for a windier version of Monday but it didn't happen. Felt dialed on the 3.5 and it was super fun at first, but then I got a stab wound on the wing and by the time I sailed in it had ripped to xl size. Oh well the wind is coming up so the 2.5 will be perfect. It was not. I drifted around and swore a lot, and then the wind completely died and I swam in. It came back enough for the dream team to get out but I was done.

Raced to CP after work and was rewarded with a delicious sunset session. Too many logs and shorebreak at the 1st boat ramp, 2nd boat ramp was better so rigged the 4.5m and headed out, over to Jemmy Jones and then back over to Mary Todd. Got a pretty good travel session tonight. couple trips between islands and rode some waves in Cadboro Bay which seems very large to me. Got to Willows about noon and the wires were howling. Some rafts of logs floating in the beach break suggested launching/landing there a bit sketchy. Dog arrived and we went down to look at Tweezers (water up to the third stair, mass of logs over most of the little cove and a big swell) and it was mega sketchy! We ended up at the bottom of Bowker which has a few parking spots. A bit too much like lake sailing for the first half. Had Mtnarg and team show up for some company. As soon as I heard someone deflate the wind dialled up a bit and improved ' thank you for that. Was a bit too South most of the time but finally swung more SE and filled in but was up and down all day. Had some breakthroughs, landing all flying footswitches port-to-starboard and finally attempted some starboard-to-port but a long way off that side still.
Overall awesome day despite gaps in the wind.

Another great day at Clover point. Wind wasn't as furious as two days ago, but more consistent. It kept picking up until it was time for a 3m. Swell started to build towards the early afternoon. I struggled a fair bit with jibes in these conditions making things a little more exhausting. Also experienced weird cavitations taking place under the swell further out where there was more chaos. Fair amount of wood and kelp floating just under the surface. All in all Some amazing swell.
