With some Easterly in the wind, there was no shore break or rollers coming in. It was almost flat out there. A great opportunity to focus on gliding into the turns. Though, the gusts were pretty full on for the 5m but, hey, the 4m is getting yesterday's hole fixed.

So nice when you take the shot and you score! Bonus 8/10 session with Bobson, Danno, Rupp-Dog, and the Pope. Started fairly marginal NW that peaked to a 21kt SE (from Cad wx station) for a wild 15min period. I was able to do my S-Turn thing 200m from CP and was fully powered without risk of being becalmed in the shipping lanes. Played gybe tag with Danno resulting in some epic crashes for me! Model2 was a good wager. Put in at Willows, should have listened to the locals, Bobson, Rup Dogg, HiRock and Matt sailing from CP with the morning NE. The SE was late arriving, by mid-afternoon we got the forecasted 18kts with mild swell lines in the bay.
Mild, no gloves with some sunny breaks. Happy Holidays :))

WOW!!! Arrived 11:30am to 6-10kts but I was desperate so I rigged BIG!! Got out and caught a gust right away. It had picked up while I was rigging to 8-11kts and then I saw Danno flying down towards Willows, he came upwind and we yelled nonsense at each other for 30 mins in the gusts that were all close to the 2nd boat launch. Marginal conditions, but I could see Bobson make it work. I followed in and had my first ride on my new Starboard inflatable travel board. There was definitely enough to get occasional lifts and some good runs. Nice to feel that loose freedom on foil again. Pretty happy with the Starboard! Very similar to my JPAus, but a much better traveller. Still took lots of falls trying to find the performance limits on the board. Followed Bobson in after an hour as the winds reduced. Good day on foil!

Arrived early to 6-10kts, with more 6 than 10 but I was desperate so rigged a fat 7.0m Flyer and used the new 1100 front foil and 95 Evolution fuse both of which were amazing!! Fairly steady wind for first hour, 8-11kts which was almost perfect for the 7.0m. During some gybes it felt like I was going so slow but still foiling, crazy!! Compared to the 800cm2, the 1100cm2 has lots of lift at slow speed. For the last 30 minutes I found a Drunken Monkey out there on the water foiling in basically no wind, wow, ... (more)

First kiter there at 1030! Swell from the parking lot was visible high water ment no beach.. put up the 7m but instantly hoped it wasn't going ramp up.. and it did! Could've been a little under powered on the 5m but would've been more comfortable.. getting yarded and working hard with so much chop.. got tired quickly. Started out at IV but after watching Marty and Ryan launch decided it was too much for me. Went to check out Clover and ended up being a super fun session with some huge swell and light wind . Some big fast swell rides with a couple face plants from over foiling, stayed out until I was getting overpowered at the end on 5M and tired . Great crew out with lots of stoke.

Started by getting a good smack in the mouth, self inflicted wetsuit incident. Trev indicated 3.7, I was lit for great long waves & heavy gusts, waves /wind dropped a little & tried to keep 3.7/85 going but relented, happier on 4.2. My wave selection was bit off, probably blood loss lol, some fun rides, good crew & tiring sesh! Wet snow & chilblains only @start

A little over the top. Ryan and I decided to go meet up at Island View. Mike and Marty also showed up for the party. Conditions were exceptionally out of control' Lol. I HAD to go in after both Marty and Ryan bit the bullet. Glad they shamed me into it. Swell was awesome and conditions weren't as challenging as I thought. Glad I braved the 3 degree temps. Wore the old Bare dry suit. One run on 4.2 at start and straight in to the 3.8. Pretty maxed and working way too hard during first session. Wind calmed a bit session 2 and seemed to work out a few bugs. Some good waves and couple back loops. Good to see the gang and post session ice beer with Kus.

Awesome Clover sesh. Glad it blew 4.0 as 5.0 hasn't been repaired from last weekend. Solid crew with everyone getting nice rides in the big swell. Straight lined a few overhead ones pushing the 840 Spitfire to its max speed with couple high speed smackdowns. Like MrNorthS said, a smaller higher aspect foil would be the right tool for riding those big fast moving lumps.

Tried the 850 Operator on the DW board today with 4m in lighter air and it was fantastic. I was just powered up enough to make it work. Eventually the wind ramped up. Some GREAT swell outside and so fun to share it with a good sized crew. Giant playground for swerving around. Bolts on my baseplate eventually got loose somehow and made high speed runs on the faces *interesting*. Kept flipping my board over to look for offending bits of kelp but nothing. First half had some beauty OH swells on the outside. I couldn't do much except drop straight down them, but that was pretty fun. Lots of people out getting great waves. The wind was really up and down and the big board with small wing and foil worked pretty well.

Had a look at IV and was not brave enough. Kudos to those who were. Launched at Clover with the 5.5 and flailed in the kelp for a bit. Once up and out it picked up and I eventually rigged down to 4. Massive and fast moving swell that was hard to stay on but had some good rides eventually but didn't ever feel dialed in. Smaller HA foil would prob be the ticket'

Well that was interesting. Chased wind in the first part of morning. Went to Clover, meh. Went to Willows, nah. Went to IV, holy shite too much for my 3m and only foil (HPS 1050 - 1400cm2). Back to Clover with a few peeps already out Windoc, BWD, Tugboat, MrN/S., all concurring 4ish was the call. Got out and there was some beauty huge swells on the outside and quite friendly/ridable compared to some of those other big SE days where you tend to stay on the inside. Wild times - arrived around 12:30 and the swell looked to be decent but wind iffy. Really wanted to try my new 3.5 and it seemed doable. No go, wasted about 45 mins drifting out just getting on foil and then swimming in. Grabbed 5 and the session began! Wind kept ramping up and was way overpowered, but some fun swell rides and a few big jumps, nice to finally have some ramps on my port side. Really wanted to go back out on 3.5 but had to get home. Rad session.

Wow, that was EPIC! I mean epically the worst wing session I've ever had! OMFG!! First mistake was launching at Centennial!!! I think the sandbars have gotten bigger. :o I just could not get out through the chop, which was actually big! It seemed that between waves the water was getting sucked out and my foil kept bottoming out. Finally I got out and then the real fun started.
