First on the water at 845. Light at first with 3.5m and new HA1250 . Fifteen minutes later on foil and loving my first HA ride. Sweet glide and keeping momentum in the gybes. A gust of 30knots came through and mostly overpowered after that. Re-rigged the 2.9m wing and never used before 850cm2 foil!.
Epic swing from E to SE and waves ramping up as rain intensified. Finally lulled off the water. It started snowing pretty soon after. A few hardy souls out. Thank goodness for the extreme relief zipper!

Arrived early to a full parking lot, Tearoom Santa breakfast. Wind was 15-20kts and Shorebreak was reasonable. Rigged the 3.9m and left the 800cm2 foil as I knew how this foil would react. The Shorebreak had gotten bigger and I got worked and my uphaul snapped so had to come back and tie it together. Back out and up quickly, waves on inside were big and steep so difficult to stay foiling. Rigged the 4.0 first but by the time I was on the water that was over. 2 tacks and made it back without a swim. Rigged the 5.0 and that worked for the session. The wind was shifty, up and down. The 5.0 carried me through most of the downs. The water was in a confused state and then turn quite flat. Kus stayed on for the stronger winds that came later and stayed til dark.
Kus, thanks for the wellness check on the outside when I missed a couple of water starts!!! You never know!!!

Lots of gusty wind. Lots of people on the water. Big shore break on most of the beach, but nice big swell further out. We launched at the campground because it had a very small break. Really nice day, but exhausting for those of us that fall off our board all the time. I called it quits after 2.5 hours

Was holding off for the much advertised Epic RB Gale Day....but like so many forecasts of mice and men, blah, pfft, pfizzle!! Arrived to pack of wind hungry hounds standing around chatting but at least it was warm and sunny. Eventually things looked ripply with micro gales dancing on the water surface. I think I came in a little too early. I decided to take one for the team and head out to find the win line when conditions were all over the place. Two fairly strong swells conflicting. Had a little luck, but things generally didn't pick up. Slogged to my way back to the beach eventually. Almost went out for a second go a little while later as everyone else started to show up. Things were still looking a little sketchy, so decided to pack it up. I think I just missed the window.

Persistence rewarded! It felt like I was chasing the wind all day. Started at Willows - too big a shorebreak. Then Cad Bay - big wind and shorebreak. Tried Elk Lk - nothing. Tried RB - big waves/shorebreak. Just flew my drone. Went shopping at Canadian Tire. Got another good RB OSR. Arrived at RB and everyone was just hanging ashore waiting for wind. I rigged big in case the winds came. Good thing as I ended up with a good hour session with some valuable mast positioning advice from the Doc!

The first half of the session was spend leisurely swimming/floating on the Ross Bay side after my kite went into the water after a long lull right at the start. When I finally made it to the beach de-rigged and walked back to Clover Pt. Reset and re-launched, by then the wind was a bit more consistent. Gusty with a few holes and lots of things in the water that kept wrapping around my foil mast. Westerly filled in after 2 hours of prone. 3rd tack out and got caught by a set off the point that ripped out my leash plug. Luckily caught up to my board and made it in. 2nd sesh with leash tied to back foot strap. Got worked trying to get out, almost gave up. Caught a few nice rides then rode one in with almost no wind so called it. 2ft rip in the 5.0 was a bummer but happy to get in with no bodily damage. Omen Greg on wing and Eric on kite.

Arrived at 1pm, looked great (12-20kts) so rigged up the 4.5m and headed out.....and nothing!! schlogged out and back for 30 mins, came in and re-rigged the 5.2m and back out and it was barely enough. Lots of pumping, and not the good kind. I probably should have hit RB with everyone else but I'd been there the last 2 days and wanted to try something new. There was still wind when I pulled the plug as I was in need of a Corona, badly!

Looked iffy when I arrived. Heavy crew of locals on the goat hill. Chatted for 30 mins, and then got rigged, as consensus was that it would pickup when current system moved through. Blew up my "new to me" 3.5 slingshot with boom - looks sweet, and then the wind filled in. Didnt get to use it tho - super fun session up at the point with a good crew of maybe 10 wings out? Consistent fun wind up at the point. Was feeling sendy on a couple jumps. I love RB.

On it early to try out the sp840. Dang it's fun. Wind was a bit light to start and then ramped and had good power and some fun waves. Rigged down to 4 eventually and played right next to Clover because tide was so high it was rideable and clean right in the lee. Eventually had a kelp wrassle.

I started a bit early. Under powered on my 5 m. Ended up downwind doing the walk of shame. Second session was much better. Wind really picked up. Very overpowered on the 5 m in the gusts. Took a short break, but stayed on the water until the wind started getting light At the end of the day. This was the first really windy day since I've been here. There were too many wings and kites to count, but I would say more than 100 people on the water at one time.

Late start, arrived to at least 12 wingers out and Bobson! Pumped up the 5 but went to the 4 pretty quickly. First day on a new stabilizer SPEED180 did feel smoother, less resistance than the SURF205 not sure it was much faster?
Some good inside runs chasing Tuna and watching his 360 attempts.. also Highrocker doing his slalom runs on the inside. Then at ~2 the wind stopped had a nice paddle in and a drive to get my gear! Thanks for a good afternoon Ross Bay! Bonus.. zero kelp hits, slams or launches whoot ... (more)
