Arrived to minimal wind, and RB local paddleboarding, not a great sign. Chatted with Tugboat and RuppDogg and things seemed to turn around. Blue skies brought some wind and foiled right off the beach. Up and down wind, but fun following Tweezer around working on some backwind sailing. Booked it back to the beach to avoid a swim. Should have gone with a larger foil and wing, had a good 30 minutes, until the wind died. Was pretty sure it was going to return, so floated around Clover point for a while, watching/hoping (or imagining) a wind line approaching, scored 5 more glorious foiling minutes and packed it in.

Got an hour's worth of air time with my big gear. Winds weren't awesome. Lots of holes and kelp traps. But when you could fly, the sunshine and vibe was outstanding. Lots of OGs to share the swells with. Winds reduced around suppertime and I was glad I headed in when I did. We got to watch a kiter get dropped off by marine SAR after he ended up on Trial Island. Nice.

Not quite as windy in person as on the cam. Arrived to many schlogging about, waited for about 1/2hr before finally getting sucked out myself. A long schlog to the outside where there was finally an inbound gust and wave to get me flying. Lots of kelp lurkers about and light "don't come off foil" wind at times. No real wave action today. A fairly big crowd for a Friday afternoon. Looks like some doldrums over the next week Wah!

Tried to make a go of it but wind was funky af and lulled as I started. A few other kiters were all doing the same and we got clustered around the boat ramp and one by one resigned to the grassy knoll. One kite got caught way out past Ross Bay and his kite went down. I believe his buddy called the CCG and I hope he got back ok. Launch at 930 and after 40 minutes of weed wacking, had given up hope, as the further out I went , the worse it was. Yet, on my way back to shore, the weeds had cleared over the sand bank during the outgoing tide and, as long as I stayed in the shallows, the foil remained clear. This was also where nice rolling swell and waves were standing up. Rode it out for two hours before the tide had made it too shallow . Big work out!

Weird weather but workable. Bad luck on kelp takedowns. Good luck in that I didn't even plan for today. Highlight of the session was getting broadsided by an angry jogger at the end. It took me a second to remind myself that I have everything going right in my life, and he obviously doesn't. Flow like water :)

First time on the Airbolt in Wing-mode. I think the board Wingfoils just as well as it Windsurf foils. The wind was lighter than expected and I was under powered using the KT 5.0m Wing. With the board being much (30cms) longer than my KT Wing drifter 130, The Goya Airbolt 135 definitely has better hull speed and I feel it gets up on foil quicker. Pretty typical day in the local bay. Very off and on but the holes were fairly short lived for the majority of the session. Died at the end and then came back as soon as I reached the shore which lured me back out twice, both times just enough to foil away and then slowly slog back. What a fool I am!

Looked good on camera then arrived to Danno and Windoc bobbing on the remains of the swell. Waited around for a bit and decided to go give it a try on big gear since it was such a nice day. Wind picked up and the rest of the crew came out. Not much swell but still fun cruising around.

Fantastic afternoon on the bay! Made a heal side but did not foil out of it. A little eel grass around, a Bobson whooooo flyby. Wind slowly faded and I floated in on the DW board.

Pretty good session today. One kite out when I arrived. I self-launched a 10m kite and that was an ok choice for the first part of the session. I was decently powered on my reaches and the early session gybes but as time went on the wind started to ease and it became more difficult in the transitions. High tide meant quite choppy conditions and there is a lot of kelp still on the windward side of Clover. Looked like a few peeps still out on the water for the late afternoon session, so decided to join in. Was very light on arrival, rigged big and schlogged out to about halfway before getting on foil. Well that was disconcerting for a while. Launched with a new mast position, new impact vest and a windsurfing harness fitted with a new hook. For the first time in a long while, I didn't check the tether attachment to the board. One trip out and back with the harness needing adjustment, got that sorted and went out again. Tangled with a couple of patches of kelp, thought i was through and realized i was trailing some. Cleared that, restarted and realized detached fronds were wrapped on my board leash. ... (more)

Another fantastic session, sharing woo hoos with Bobson, Paul and many others. Lots of new folks I did not recognize. The wind was lightish but good enough for the small 6m. Kelp still annoying. Swell was nice enough and got a few semi-flagged runs. Practiced jibing in the messy swells with some success. Graet summery fun on the water. Really appreciating these fine wind days now that I can't get out as often. So fun!

Happy to get out since it was super light when I arrived. Choppy and currenty mayhem but the wind was decent. West of Clover the wind was really South and it felt like I could have sailed to Esquimalt. Got to see Bobson and a whale today, so that was nice.

Nice weather and a little more time today but not much wind. Sailed 3km west to 1km East of Dundarave on back eddies then turned and got sucked back to Hollyburn Sailing Club in ~30 minutes. There is a Coho (i think) run and big Salmon are jumping like crazy. On the morning ebb tide they were jumping a mere 50ft from shore.
