Day Trip with da WindDoc. Solid crew up there, RBFC getting ready for the fall season. Winddoc let me try is MA1000 for the day, which was a mistake, because now I seriously want one. The goal for the day was to foil out of an air 360, and was fortunate to get a few finally. Quick debrief with the crew and we rolled home!

Fantastic day and great to see everyone. 1st lake session this year. Got to witness Tunacan absolutely crushing the frontside 360s with HIGH rotations. Inspired me to try one eventually and mine turned into a weird back loopy thing to back splat. Too tired to try more but made some good progress on raleys. Feel like I did a hundred pull ups and crunches today working on them. The 850 is so nice for fast heel side tacks. Great glide. Jumping went well on it! Saw a bear on the way in and Elk on the way out. S ... (more)

Wind took a bit to fill in but it did. Used the 6.2 the whole time we were out there with the 115L. Felt a little overpowered at time but it made up for some of the slight lulls throughout the day. Finally did a few fast tacks on the 115L! Stoked! BigZee was on the 160L with a 4.2, shredding it in the calmer northern section of the beach. I had to try out the dagger board since it has been so long since ive used that thing. Crazy to think it's only been a year this month since I started this sport. Stoked o ... (more)

Steady SW 25+ - perfect for 5m+surfboard (when Alton Jr let me use it). Otherwise, lit on 8m+surfboard with full depower. Spend the noon session (before the sandar) way upwind in the blue water to shave off wind ... then the mid-afternoon session down at Nexen to ride nicely organized waves. Great way to end the week.

Three sessions - started with a ferry upwind (Sky Wing + 3m) then 60L with 4m and H925. Stinkbug is fine, provided wind is good. Came in, took a break, and went out for second session with same gear. Fine for 20 min until there just wasn't enough wind for me to get on foil. Eventually sat straddle the board and slowly came back. Faster than prone paddling? Not sure. Third and final session around 6 pm with 88L board, 6m wing, and HA1125. Good for 20 min. On foil riding through glass with less than ... (more)

Missed the stronger wind but enjoyed chats with morning session folk.. 2pm launch was still strong in the gusts but what a joy sailing near the spit spit area w/o a harness in just the boardshorts. Nice to see Rusky smallwave on his 7.2 windwing crosswinding out a 1km or so with each reach.
Dinner onsite then went out for some gracefull evening Lagoon fun.

Early morning session with solid wind, a few half decent rollers and NO seaweed. Barely anyone there. This was my first session combining the Omen 1050 with the Flux board that Omen has collaborated on with Appletree. These are also my first sessions with a carbon mast. Also the first time on a 72l board. I have work to do on the take off but once up, the foil board combo is intuitive. Made it out for an early morning session at the Terminal. Super stoked with the new KT DD wing! Of course a more direct fell when pumping but felt fantastic doing 360s. I always struggled doing 360s with my old 5.0 but the DD is way easier to control back winded and feels like the handles arena the perfect spot. Also made a bunch of tacks, toe side and heal side. Looking forward to trying it out in the waves, even a local Boundary Bay session would be nice but can't wait to get out to Long Beach again.

Thunder and lighter. Marine layer and thunder at dawn! Inflow started at 9:00 am. Group effort retrieving a kite from the trees this morning. Wind came in light. Thunderstorms on the east side of the island and you could hear one to the south. Surprised there was sailable wind. It was light and I needed big gear (6.1/116/29). Direction had some north in it and was puffy at first. Wings and kit foils were getting rides right from the start. Steadied out and provided some rides for the windsurfers t ... (more)

Arrived to not much wind after the first of the storm had rolled through. Waited it out with Gus until the wind came back up. Inspired by WD and TC to put the straps on and get some air. I usually had the front foot offset so opted for inline and that helped with the awkwardness of toe side that I had before when I tried straps. Got one good boost off a wave and the others were pretty tame but controlled. What I really liked was the ability to push carves harder and recover from breaches or wobbles that I n ... (more)

Rocked up after the lightning show surprised to see 5 wingers risking death by electrons. Looked like it was probably safe so joined the fray. Some nice lumps against current off Clover.

Lightning earlier in the day kept me off the water, circled back a few hours later and saw a couple wingers braving the conditions. Fun session, lots of work staying on foil tho. Successfully launching off the outflow and staying dry for 15 mins was the highlight.

Swell coming in from three directions, gusty inconsistent wind and bull kelp in all directions? Only Ross Bay can get you there...lol. Really good session for first 30 although I was having to come up with ways on how to manage take-offs under the conditions. Got some good turns and a little swell here and there but most of the time spent scanning dark grey waters for hard to see stuff in water. Was willing to keep going but realized my foil set was a little loose at the base for some reason. By the time I ... (more)

Big turnout with Mtnarg, Lancer, Paul, Greg, Matt, Jon, Ben, Alain, GMan. Two sweet hour-long sessions with flat water, steady winds, gusts, holes, blue skies, rain, thunder, lightning, and a few successful gybes. No swell, but no kelp either.

Good turnout. Light wind with big enough gusts to get going. Wind was quite shifty. Came off the water when the thunderstorms got too close.
