Good vibe on the beach!
Arrived to a local band "Apex Breaks" jammin on the outflow peer. Some caps on the outside, kites lifting at Clover and a flock of wings walking down Goat Hill. Good start! Enjoyed moderate conditions for a good hour with a field of debris to keep everyone's attention.
Good vibe, good crowd, good times :))

Attempted RB after the previous swim day (Sat.). Twas a tad light with some "don't come off the foil moments" or there was a pump fest waiting for you to get flying again. Throw in lots of debris and some UnusuallyLarge Swell for how light the wind was and it became a test of skill, cunning, stubbornness to give up, swerving, and swearing! All in all a pleasant evening to get wet with a large crowd out bobbing around.

Not the epicness forecast but still better than nothing. Big waves, big balls of kelp and extended periods of just sitting on the board waiting for a puff. Got tangled up in some kelp and while dekelping found a wierd looking crab the size of my hand defending his perch on my foil. Managed to get some sweet rides and one port side jump.

Big expectations but underwhelming conditions at best. Tons of hidden kelp and other sea junk to get caught up in. Able to pump on to a foil but came in once water starting no longer worked as uphauling on little board in the swell off the point proved problematic. Stuck around for a while but not long enough for the 7pm ramp up.

Mayhem @super-hi tide, ripping winds, rigging carpets floating, kite lines criss crossing. Kites going out, others crashing in. Finally got launched up inlet, thinking 'man Ive got too much kite'! First lit up @50% depower, then manageable. Then full power wishing for more rest of sesh. Several almost transitions, no issues, no board loss, no wipeouts, clean safe finish. Not exciting but sweet!

Maiden voyage for the Takuma. Glad I didn't go any bigger, 100 litres seems like its lots of float and stability. Mostly slogging waiting for a gust, and frustrated by several times getting a gust that would have got me foiling but hit kelp and went over the nose. Loads of crap in the water. At the end it was better wind and actually well powered outside. Sailed till nearly sunset, quit several times but kept going back for more. Every one was there

What a fun day! Got a launch from Colin who regularly flies sport kites at Clover. Thanks Colin! I was a bit unsure about a 10m for today but it turned out to be the right kite. I had lots of smooth rides to the NW and choppy rides to the SE. I caught a few nice SE swell waves toeside and a good few backside swells heading NW. It was a terrific kind of fall-like day but still warm and friendly. Had a good chat with Tony afterwards as we picked seaweed off our gear and ourselves. Super fun day!

Long day on the water! Used all my sails today. Started out at 11:30ish heading up to the narrows for a morning upwind flaterwater session on the 7.0m. Then back for lunch and grabbed the 5.2m for some 15-20kts of fun for 3 hours. Then in for a rest and more food and back out on the flattened 4.5m for last hour in 25+ kts of wind and larger waves than I like. Never seen so many windsurfers on the water at one time. 2 separate groups from Jerico and UBC were there for the long weekend so rigging was difficult at times. Met lots of good peeps. Busted the nose (again) on the 115L again 30min in, so I ripped the 99L for the rest of the session. probably going to have to make a foam plug for this repair lol. Got down to a 4.2 in the end. Mabey should have re-rigged to a 3.5 but i figured the moment i did it would just die off. Wind died down by the time I had to go. ... (more)

Started out on the big board, 1000 Foil and 5.2m. Good for nearly 2 hours and hen got super gusty and it was like the wind came from all ways. The wind was very hot then it cooled down and then got hot again. Weird!?! The usual suspects, Kus and Jelly and Stephane. Clouded over this afternoon and wind still blowing 20+ at 6:20pm. The first 2 hours seemed easy then tried changing to small board and 4.5m when wind picked up but went out for 30 mins and didn't have enough power so came back and grabbed big b ... (more)

The longest swim.
Found reasonable swell at the point with just enough wind and waves to complete the jibes. Chased a vanishing wind-line to the outside hoping to catch one last gust to get me back. Drifted forever past the point before admitting defeat and resuming the swim. Battled yards of kelp providing entertainment to Clover Pt spectators (lucky no one called 911). After an exhausting swim, I was relieved to see Highrocker to my rescue bringing my crocks to ease my long WOS from the corner washr ... (more)

Followed Idefix out to the wind line despite minimal winds in the bay. Actually found some gusts inside that got me up a few times. In the end, it was too infrequent and moderate for my skill level to counteract the swell. Way too much pumping to get up and stay up and kelp avoidance was difficult. I called it after 30 min and was able to sail back in. I waited for Danno to swim/slog back in. I knew I'd be rewarded with cold bevys.....

Had to leave around 14h/15h. Stopped at the hatchery tbinking it was going to blow, but no wind whatsoever even if Nitinat was windy. Tendonitis flare up anyway so that cut trip short. Amazing lifty wind at Nitinaht these days.

Wow, kited too long I used up all my wind when I tried to get a late aft windsurf sail in, it dropped fast and got flukey so fast Zi barely had a chance for a few reaches!
Fun evening but don't remember much, great sleep in cooling off light winds late!

Afternoon flood of about 3 metres to high slack of about 3.4 metres ebbing to about 3 metres (it seemed like more of a swing in height than that). Intended to do a surf-check at South Chesterman but the sensors were showing light and SC and Long Beach was on already, so returned back to Long Beach to find fun-sized waves were still pumping. Later Jesse said this must have been that one day of the year when Long Beach had more wind than South Chesterman. Tide was already up to the backside of Incinerator R ... (more)

Best day of the three went about a mile up the lake past pine point and rode some small lumps all the way back. Perfect day to try some different foils on new smaller board and figure out placement. Even tried out the 999 again and really liked it , think I might keep it, great speed and glide and turned almost as good as 890 just a bit harder to start.

First time launching at Otter Point. Fun sized waves, solid wind, lots of water moving around and foggy. Crew said it wasn't an epic setup but I had a great session. Stayed close to shore to avoid getting lost in the fog on a heavy flood current. Could have been on 4.0 but 5.0 was manageable. Thanks to Jaundesooka for the pics and vid.

I was hopeful that I could have a good after work session and it looked like that would be the case but... after 20 or so minutes of good kiting the wind died and even my lovely Aluula kite fell from the sky. I had a short swim in and while I was in the water I thought about the invitation to the lake from my buddy Dave. Well, I have some regrets...
