Got to the beach as the wind died inside (there is a pattern I tried to break by leaving work early). A couple of wings foiling outside gave me hope so I drifted out and soon got foiling. And crashed. Over and over. Dug the nose into the back of a few rollers just keeping the nose down to accelerate. Fell even on easy quartering waves. First in, in the afternoon at RB, I acted as guinea pig for the the OG crew. Had my wonderfully repaired (Leitch&McBride) Cab62 out and after about 10min of slogging I got a puff to get foiling on. It was mostly on 10-13kts, mostly flat, and mostly fun. The light winds reduced my gybe efficiency, but it was time to learn light wind gybing anyways. After a week at nitinaht, it took a bit of time to re-calibrate to Clover. The cross swell made the foil feel super twitchy and I spent more time in the water in one short session than I did all week at nitinaht. All alone as well which was quite novel. The wind was good but very light on the inside ranging from about 16 on the point down to about 10 nearer the beach.

First time to Gordons. Car pooled with Bougie. The legend himself Atomick Chomick was getting off the water as we arrived. Looked a little light and a decent shore bubble. Went with the 5m and taxi'd pretty far out till was able to get foiling. Suddenly wind filled in and it turned into an awesome session. Excited to go back when there is an actual swell running.

Sailing with the local fleet! Excellent training day in perfect side shore wind. Fun racing H-Rock around the buoys! Made good use for those annoying crab traps. Worked on "toe to heel tack" for a good hour with only marginal progress to report. Difficult to power back up after a turn.

Not much swell when I arrived. Junky, Rupert were coming off the water. Shaggy heading out. Watched for a bit thinking rest day, then shaggy started having too much fun by himself and needed support. Swell built up really nice. Texas Clay launched from Clover. JJ, SAJohn, Sam, Tuna joined in the fun. Nice night and some really nice big smoothies in the middle of the bay!

Arrived around 8pm for a quick evening session. Tweezer and Sam were just finishing up, Shaggy and one other still out there sailing. Nicely powered on 5m for 20 mins and felt a little light last 10. Didn't feel like risking a late night swim in, so called it early as I am still kind of tired from yesterday. Forgot my watch, so no GPS today.
Life is good when you can get in the ocean right at home at the end of a long day.

First session after nitinaht and I rigged bigger as a precaution, so rigged the 7m and foil. Was a little overpowered at the start but as the wind went down, I was in the sweet spot by the end of the session. Spend the first half of the session on the Ross Bay side then headed up at Cook, managed to hit a few random kelp that resulted in some decent faceplants. Good to see Aldo up on his surfboard. Overall a nice sunset session, need to remember sunglasses next time.

Pretty good after work session. Started on the 10m but came in for the 12m after a few tacks. 12m was much better for the wind and was fine even when the wind increased later in the session. Just me on the water to start then Rob C. joined me. The wind was very southerly and the chop direction made for a really bumpy ride heading west to Finlayson point and it wasn't much better heading back towards Clover. Another day, another fantastic day on the water. Willows was nicely flat and powered - perfect for gybe training. Followed Idefix, Paul, and DocG around and outside the bay in nice tropical conditions. I really enjoy the wing culture! So different from the antagonistically territorial surfing way of the waves.

Thanks god for some good local wind for a change. I was getting pretty tired of all the coast and hood river session logs. Especially after our van caused us to cancel our Nimpkish trip. Hopefully repairs will be complete before our Nitnat trip next weekend. Anyway...fantastic day at SP. Lots of holes at times but overall wind was way better than expected.
