Sailed the AHD Seal for a bit. Fun board, a bit big for me but a turny little thing that didn't feel like a 100L. Thanks Kus. Okay day otherwise. Lots of chop but at least the wind came up eventually :?

Arrived to find Ozy, Paul and Gwind making the best of the light wind and had a decent first hour of mostly planing, one forward, one backie, then the wind backied off but the swell improved down near incinerator so we had some fun doing the bob out and surf back on some decent waves. Sunday was skunkage in the wind department, but when plan B is surfing in the sun at Long Beach, I wasn't complaining. The mythical big day at Long Beach eludes me. Big ups to Eastside for packing us and our TWELVE boards out ... (more)

But mostly slog out, try and snag a wave on the way in. Found one real nice one for a good down the liner, which was my highlight. Wind was cross offshore. The wind came in earlier than the forecast. We were hoping for more the next day but we were happy working on our surf style in the sun. Definitely had the ... (more)

Good time with everyone. got blown off the water after only an hour and and a half. Time to save for a Rise 8. The Wakesurf board is quite the challenge. if you bend you knees you stick to it. made a couple of olies and a couple of gybes. off the lip turns on waves are the most fun. knee moderately happy but still reminding me that it can tell me when to quit at any time. :D

Came after work to find whole bunch of boyz on the beach with grins on their faces. Rigged up 4.0 and stocklessly ( ) sailed for about 1.5 hour. Then wind died off a liitle and Mr. Dr. let me use his 4.7 for a while. I liked long harness lines. I think I am going to switch to 26' :)

:D What an awesome day! Started on the 5.5 nicely powered for the first 40 min. then it built quickly to solid 4.7 wind with nice smooth ramps to jump. Could've been on my 4.0 much of the time but loved being mega powered on the 4.7. Later on the swells got bigger and everyone was having a blast ripping them up. Definitely the best day at Gordo's this year.

Sorta like a nice Sunday sail catching the odd breaking swell over the reef. Making the best of the lack of wind.

Also got worked several times over by the viscous shore break at Big Beach - Reminds me of a winter SE day at IV, except when you get pounded into the ground its nice soft sand; not hard, barnacle covered rocks. Oh and no wetsuit!

:D Nice to get out on the 12m rise again. It seems so long as I have been riding the 10m Rise most of the time. Light wind but picked up all the time I was out. A great way to end the day.

Went for a rip down to ross bay to play in the flat stuff with ryan. Of course the wind dropped off as soon as I got there :? . Struggled but finally got back to the launch after about an hour. :P Tried a couple of loop backrolls but the wind died off pretty quick.

Wind up and down - hovering off the point again.

Went up wind a few times to Ogden point when the wind felt adequate. As soon as I hit the lighthouse the wind died slightly and I headed back. Down winders dont seem to be as much fun as everyone makes them sound. Cant get going fast enough while wanting to go downwind faster than up.

Wind stronger on the outside. Didnt know the whale boats would come so close until one appeared from behind on my leeward side... :!:

Refused to go in because of hay fever. ... (more)
