Lame start, heavy current, tons of floaties, waves arrived, wind arrived, then crapchop. Not so much gusty than off/on. Sail never felt right despite kazillion adjustmts. Only spot decent was around Pt in Ross Bay, nice smooth rollers but swirly wind :x 6'ers set up for about 10 mins, then they were gone :cry: back to chop :evil: ramps galore, 2 close backloops, tempted by forwards & to rig 4.7 late but my hip decided to sail another day

A little light on the 11m at first but then picked up. Only 7-8 kites on the lake so nice and open. Got out on the 8m for a good hour before it tailed off again and I finished the day on the 11m. Tried out the new mako wide and was amazed. Goes upwind like a hotdamn! :twisted:

A little disatisfied with the session to begin with but that quickly changed when the wind picked up a few knots.
Busted my go-joe while attempting some back loops and returned to the beach to remove it. Found a makeshift screwdriver on my key chain.
Somehow inverted lines between landing and pre re-launching and eventually sorted it out. Wind ~25 knots at the western point. Boosting ~20-25ft air again. Noice! more controled low single rotations easier in higher winds. lowe ... (more)

It is blowing now!!! Started out with the 5.8 and 110l,stayed with the 110l and upgraded to 6.5,some reaches,some slogs. ID showed up, I figured he knew something was up. Wind did return, more of a southwest,then filled in for a couple hours. Happy to get it ,since I got there late. We left at 8:00pm,not a bad session,0 to 60 more than a few times,challenging but fun.Bean declared Columbia Beach season is over.

OK, timing bit off today, all good now :twisted: felt gusts after dinner, hockey, beers. Off to Cpt rig in a frenzy only to be vastly OP on 5.3 in wicked winds that kept building, worried about lightning but figured: "what a great way to go out" & thot the squally stuff would die as I re-rigged. No way! Finally relented, arms 2" longer, grabbed 4.7 & still OP, then calmed a bit, waves built to huge monster rollers, what a blaaaast!! Best sesh ever at KP!

Craziest shore break I have ever tried. Massive 5' walls of kelp riddled water devastating my attempts to get off the beach time and time again. Gusty winds making the timing even harder, when there was no wave there was no wind, and of course the opposite was true.
Super gusty way UP then way OP with the most massive swells I have ever been in, easy 6 footers from time to time, killing the wind in the trough. Sucked going out, fun riding swells on the way in. Good workout I guess.

Sailed the 4.7 for a while nicely powered in the puffs to underpowered in the holes, then it died off and came back a bit later. Tried the 5.5 and was planing most of the time but it didn't last and gradually fizzled. Not really worth the drive this time. : (

How could such perfect forecasts turn out to be so crappy? :evil:

Not the conditions I was expecting on the drive up. :? Had a few nicely powered runs, a couple jumps, then it was plane, schlog, plane, schlog.....
