Conditions were the new standard summer conditions. Inviting puffs but hard conditons to leverage . I went out for a bit. I had a mixed experience and decided to go back in thinking there wasn't enough to play with. I was already out on a 6 m so there wasn't much I could do as one of my biggest wings is the 980. And then Richard offered me to try his Takuma rig along with OR 5m with hard bar. Mind blown. I was up in seconds and went for an awesome ride. Starting to rethink what I'm riding on as a whol ... Today was the good, the bad, and the ugly. Let's start with ugly. Very stable wind meter readings at Viento. Unfortunately, downdraft winds. Some gusts more, and after a few rotten reaches, was catapulted with front foot in. Somehow, the board flipped around and smacked my dangling back foot. Huge bruises, but no broken bones'

Started pretty flat and only about 10 knotts with some gusts. It was fun having to pump out of some of my jibes to save them with the wind so low (and my technic not perfect) . Things are clicking pretty well and I'm starting to play with Tacks, botched a few just to get the feeling of turning into the wind but am stoked to take on a new challenge.

Mayhem, both the water conditions and the riders on it. Kiters hucking freaking huge air, wing foilers doing down-winders, and then the Dino sport of fin windsurfing trying to go N-S. Wow. Mr Kus said it was the windiest he had ever seen. Spent most of the time just upwind of the bridge. Came in when I missed a jibe. It was awesome getting in jibes on the swell faces and riding the waves.

Pretty epic Gspot session! Great swell down wind; reminded me of a cold version of Arlington! The spot further east was working well later. Just Tom, Marty and myself playing in the wave garden. Dislike the drive. RB was cooking when I came home of course.

Epic day at the Spit ... a civilized version of yesterday. SW 25-30 on 6m+surfboard then after Alton Jr was done ... took her 5m for a spin in steady SW 30 with smooth swell ... so civilized ... no problem heading way way upwind with a smaller kite than many of the kite foilers.

Wind came up early, around 9. After tearing down my campsite and moving my truck I was ready and got out around 1030 with the 5m and foil. It was only Comox Mike and I on the water for the first hr. Lots of fun, unfortunately had to end it early to drive back to Vic. Great trip and big thanks to Clive for letting me share his camp site for the past five days.

Folo & I hit it 3.7/4.2, totally OP to start, came in & flattened more. Got doable but should have grabbed 3.7. Lighter at launch by 1m. Below Channel marker smoothie spot, kiter took 60ft air hollered to me to stall & missed me by 10ft :/ some serious few shred folks out. Then it got windy Lol quit b4 blowing stuff up, felt only matter of when. Filled Water & Gear Shopping :)
