:D Almost didn't go this morning due to iffy wind model but flipped a coin to decide and it worked out nicely. EC was bang on for a change.
Got there at 8:30 to find the local crew rigging up in 15 kts. but soon it was capping and we all got on the water by 9:30. Well powered on the 4.7 right away and the waves jacked up as soon as winddoc arrived.

Started out on 5.3 getting some fun jumps and rides until it really picked up. Sailed 4.2 lit for the rest of the day. Low tide waves were fantastic for jumping and riding. Had 2 of my biggest CB backies yet, but forwards seem to have fallen apart. BWD was tossing big, clean loops and getting great rides.Wingnut threw a great backloop attempt in front of me :twisted: . Love my twin for real waves! Possibly the best CB session I've had to date. Great crowd with high stoke!

WOW! What an Egg hunt! Looked slow at first, then brought on the full fury of CB we know & love. Many Humbled - many smiling. I am wiped after that one - WOW! Sailed the 62L Hardcore wave OP'd on a 4.5 - beautiful ride on the way in! After 10 hrs of shoveling dirt then wheelbarrowing uphill followed by 2 to 3 hours broken sleep I didn't have much in the tank, just as well as I didn't have much time. Caught the best of it though; started underpowered, then went to nicely powered for a couple of runs, over-boarded, and came in as it lulled. Made one dry jibe :roll: Raced home to get to Mum's 90th birthday brunch. She's pretty fit - she didn't want a ride home after, walked from Milestones to Fairfield/Cook.

Had some great rides early with Paul when the gusts were coinciding with the sets. Watched Paul pop a sweet aerial going down the line. Later on the wind got very funky. Still a very fun day! Unfortunately BA and Jellyfish got a smelly skunk as a reward for their up Island wind chase. Gwind provided post session brews. Cheers! Nat-tastic day at the lake. Thermal engaged at ~1ish, arrived at 130ish. Rigged big, although a 6.5 woulda been fine. Sailed the rising winds on the 7.5 till I couldn't hold it down/in, then rigged down for ~1 hr of nice powered 5.5. When things dropped later, went back to the 7.5, although a 6.5 woulda been a better size. Worked on lay down jibes with the 7.5 - big fun! Got there just before 11 and rigged like a mad man in case it dropped. It did, race rocks looks like it bombed shortly there after. Got a couple runs in before that happened, then sat on the beach in the sun for 2 hours hoping it would come back. It didn't. Temp gauge in the car said 17.5 C... I could get used to this, sure beats the winter sailing thus far!

Beauty day, great vistas so thought I'd try this instead of a shower....took me 1/2hr of the best wind just to re-learn to rig a race sail :roll: Board not exactly a good fit but massive 30cm freeride fin helped. Planing ok til it got gusty but had to work for it usually....Felt kinda like looking off the foredeck of the ferry tho :roll:

A couple of nice rides when I first went out then it dropped too much to be able to plane. Decided to stay out since I was already wet and practiced helis and pivot jibes and whatever. Nice tide this afternoon as I could sail a way out blow my move in waist deep water turn around and come back and do it again. Nice to jump off onto a sandy bottom and turquoise water. :D All in all a good way to get tuned up for the season, not that there's anything wrong with going out in 30 to 35 knots for the first sessi ... Morning session, blew all night. This was the tail end of it.Saw a perfect set of 3 waves, definitely bob and weavable , I was just too close to impact zone. Thanks Chris for the correct sail selection. this place is a great wave sailing training ground!

Very nice session. Some holes on the inside but I never got nailed on the 4.2. Small sail was nice in the waves. Lots of backside riding. Did some front side rides, caught a couple of big crumbling waves straight down.....it was a long way down.....Should have left the 5.3 in the bag cause it was done. 11 days in the last 21....most of them big...need some kinda tonic..... :twisted: Webcam for sp oh yeah :!:
