Wind sucked at lake Cowichan this week first time skunked there. Wind was coming mostly from south, a bit hazy. Foiled 2 out of 4 days but barely and with alot of pumping. Waters warm but very disappointing compared to most times I've camped there, of course it was windy all last week and the day we left.

Later morning the wind shifted in and ramped up. Had some great flat water speed runs on the inside. Another epic pipers day. On the 6.3 for the session.

Strange dumpy wave just south of the launch and light inside wind were a 'no' for three and a 'maybe' for one. Opted for the novelty session at Floras Lake. Halibut dinner at the campo.

Epic fail. Launch 9am and float the board up to the old kitesurfing launch site before getting on foil in stiffening breeze. Upwind leg to the wave energy test site and was riding glassy swell when the wind tanked. Knocked around in the remaining swell for 1 hour, before starting the down wind float/walk of shame on the very low tide. Arrive Locarno around 130, glad I had my hat.

The forecast looked stronger than yesterday, but a lull while I was rigging up sapped my confidence and I rigged my big stuff. Mostly overpowered but enabled a closer to the bluffs heading on the trip to the North Arm. Epic waves, but wishing for smaller gear. Nevertheless, stayed longer before heading home to Locarno.

Great day off the Point, better than expected!
Rolled in just after 11 with the tide ebbing and a solid 18 knots. Hit the water and enjoyed the next few hours in surprisingly awesome conditions with solid head to shoulder high waves up off Tower Beach for some great rides and big smiles. Regret not bringing the small surfboard! Kept waiting for the wind to wain but it kept going, had to move the bag/pump/accoutrements above the high tide line. First one there on the afternoon shift. Wasn't enough wind so went out on big gear hoping for some puffs. Slowly got a little better, swell was pretty good and could be used for takeoff. Fun enough.
