Showed up @noon G31, not quite there on beach, my 4.2/85 pendulum swung too far! Took runs but light inside. Beer/lunch, repeat til it got better, XL (mast) waves outside odd L inside, mostly small. Got a couple 5-7 hit lovelies. Wind amped so did everything else. Windfishes showed as I was pretty done, raging 3.7 & my flat 4.2 was screaming mommy. Kinda left stuff on the table, pick safe over sorry! Awesome day! Quite sandy lol

Not sure if I was too late or it just didn't happen here as usual on a morning NW. Looked like Pipers was good of course. Anyway, fun waves for short slog and ride. Zero planing runs but the 106 is pretty quick at catching even small waves so still fun and even made my first helitack of the year. Bonus was Sharon and I pretty much made Luke come to the beach and use My 5.3 on the Sup. Of course even after no sailing since last years Nimpkish trip Luke makes all his light wind jibes. Sailed with Ion Pedro on his Catalina 27 on Canada Day afternoon then rigged S. of the dog patch and circumnavigated south Woods Island. Lots of deadheads to dodge in the channel between the two islands. The North tip of the island is Lat 49Deg 0' 0.0" and is marked as such.

My best day so far. Foot switches clicked and made a good percentage of jibes. Decided to get more agressive with my carving and it really helped me feel more conected to my setup. I also used my 90cm mast and the extra length saved me from breeching quite a few times.

The Michaels. Tsawwassen (Michael) arrived late last night. Morning surf/wind check at the south jetty found decent clean waves, but really strong gusty wind. The cape was looking flatish and already cranking. I was thinking it was going to crank today at Pistol and the swell was likely going to be bigger than yesterday! I'm usually not very keen to sail at The Rock but yesterday was a blast!! Second day on the coast and another best day ever. That was definitely the best day I've had there. Started out relatively small and got bigger as the session progressed. Caught some massive air on an outside bomb and some fun wave rides. Looking forward to getting out there again today.

Had planned a trip to Nimpkish but the campervan had other plans so came home till we can get her in the shop. Udder disappointment turned to pure bliss tonight as the home beach delivered the goods. Arrived arround 8:00pm to see Nils rigging his foil gear. He was out first and quickly returned to rig his fin gear while I headed out. Woke up at 7am to wind. Ugh! Had breaky, did my morning rituals, ate breaky on the beach, chatted with MtnarG about life. Headed out at 10:30am to 15-20kts on 4.5m and big board and 1000cm2 front foil with the 115cm fuse. It Ramped up to 25+ just after noon and went down to small board and 95 mast and fuse and 1100cm2 front foil. Longer mast was good for waves, shorter fuse was good for turnyness. Speed and jump session while waiting for the moho to board the Coho tonite. 2 wings, one kite out. Strong wind! HA725 with speed tail feels so nimble and speedy! Pretty fun despite the flat water. Worked on cranking heel side jibes with as much speed and power as these chicken legs could muster!

Size matters!
Sea trials for my new KT 90L down from 115l. Maybe I could be "fast and light like a gazelle" : ) Nope! Infinitely more difficult to find balance in choppy seas. The 400m slogging to the wind line was less than graceful with more kneeling and swimming !!&*%*!. Bloody shifty winds from 20 to zero, could not get my rig dialed in. Much effort to earn a perfect fail :/ Longest swim at the end.
What was I "sinking" !?

Strange one. Powered up 100 m off shore but almost nothing near the beach. Had to take a run at the landing, made it tho 30 m off shore then swam the rest of the way as my kite fell in the water. Not the smoothest session ever but I have no ragrets.
