A couple of short runs- overall, was a tactical error- instead of going over to Singing Sands beach, to get the full NW, the convenience of leaving from the back yard made me hopeful it would continue to build and wraparound- apparently not :-(
Packed it in and went for a mtn bike ride instead

Board testing. Quick comparison and first impressions. 2023/24 Goya One Carbon 115 (Thruster) and 2015 Fanatic FreeWave 116 TE. Some west in the wind that made the launch sideonshore and jumping favoured to starboard. Wind swell was clean and organized! Fun set-up that made switching boards quick and easy. The Goya was better upwind, had more drive, and was looser under foot! The best of all worlds! Happy with the purchase! Great upgrade!

Started pretty light and SW, was not sure 4.0 was the right choice, after 30 mins went more northerly and picked up! Headed in for my 3.0 that turned out to be super fun in the larger swells, good crew out including wingdoc, Gus-tastic, RBL, The Tweez who made a much appreciated wing rescue! Morley and a few others, caught up in some solid kelp on the way in! Whoot Whoot way better than expected!

Saw it picking up on the cam and headed down to the bay. Timed it right as got some great 4m wind and the swell was winter-preview, so big and good! Definitely getting cooler, but still in barefeet! Not a big crew, Tweezer, RupDog, BigJohn, MF4, some para-thing-ding guy (Windoc), surfskiGreg, and a couple others. What a fantastic backyard wingpark!!!

Left for the beach when Ogden/Gonzales hit 15 knots. It looked like more. Gusty to nothing launch, then a several minutes long fight with kelp, then got foiling, kelp takedown, finally out to the outside and the 5 was way too much. Couldn't find my balance with the weight in the right place with too much wind. Got a couple of short flagged out rides but decided to go in and get the 4. 15 minutes in the kelp. Decided to mess around there. Taken down by kelp a couple more times. Last session without bo ... (more)

Looked good when I arrived. Sagged while I suited up so stuck with big gear. Almost came in for the smalls but the shore shadow was big and not long until dark. Then spotted Lucas sans wing so joined the search with Surfski Greg. Spotted it and wrestled it down. Tied it to my waist line and almost cleared the point at the bottom of the bay but the kelp bed loomed. Deflated the LE and tried to wrap it up to give to Greg. Greg tried to drag it upwind and into the bay but no go so he dragged it into Gonzales. ... (more)

Launched the 4m parawing and Dfly first and had 100% a better session than my first PW session, though onlookers may have disagreed. Managed to stay upwind, jibe, and even try one stow/DW run which ended up in a full yard sale. Way juiced on the outside and really need a harness to fly correctly. Bit of learning curve for sure. Went back out on 3m wing and cruised the swell with John, Rupdog, Tweezer and a couple others for the sunset session. Rib held up, so much fun. Nice to feel some stoke again.

Figured it doesn't get better for this but new foil didn't fit the plate, f$&@, uphauling board w/ a nose missing is a drag, got a waterstart, some uphauls but was careful not to fall otherwise. A few decent long foils but not enough for the tiny 1300, boring when not too much work pumping on foil
Why did I even bother, could've probably sailed nicely on 6.4. And how do you NOT ding foils??

Started off as an amazing session. 5.5m was perfect. Air was warm. Water was warm. Slack tide (very little current)'
Then I realized my wing was deflating!
Rode as far as I could, then did a big paddle to the beach. Wind pushed me way down wind. Argh!
I guess I should not have sold all my backup wings. Too light for the 4.5m. Too strong for the 8m
Good time to start drinking beer.

We got ourselves outta there on the next north puff back to the safety of the Bay. Post-session workshop on travels, sail tape and stitch selection. Hard to really assess the day on unfamiliar gear but felt pretty good and nearly foiled out of a tack.
New board has the foil box a lot further back than I'd want, otherwise excellent shape.

Great afternoon.. after some indecision on what to rig went with the 70L and 4.0, which was not a good choice, went back in for the trusty DW board and it was on! Great wind and swells at the point, and happy wingers everywhere! Quick (on water) debrief with RB-Local as the wind dropped, luckily we both made it in without a long paddle.

When I arrived there was commotion as a pod of ocra (with one really big fella) were passing the point. I setup my big kite and self-launched and started out on the Tiki. It was pretty light but that kite/board combination works well for those kinds of conditions. I was out for about half an hour and a lull coincided with me falling off the board and ending up very downwind of it. After a few minutes of body dragging in the very light wind I got back to the board and decided to come in as the wind was s ... (more)

I got completely taken to school today by a flimsy, glorified stunt kite! Greg was first out on my 4m Parawing and Dfly board and was making it look easy. I went out on my Amos ML for the first time and 5m still nursing my Mcrib injury chasing Greg around and mostly mowing the lawn, but the ML felt pretty cool to ride despite feeling less than 65L. I'd hoped it would pair with the parawing but after this experience I'm second guessing that idea! Eventually I traded with him and proceeded to flail repeatedly ... (more)

Been awhile. Light but doable on 5.0, then picked up and 3.5 was the ticket. Great swell against current of Clover. Should have downsized foil to my ARTPro1001 but didn't want to waist time on this last summer session of the year. Couple Parawings in the mix. Intriguing.

Slogged around for the first 10min and then the wind gradually filled in. After an hour the waves had jacked up and were messy but super fun at the point. Lots of people out! The water seems cold but the air was toasty.

Got there early-ish but light wind. Bobson consistently slogging not a good sign but some others started to foil so I ignored my lost truck key and slogged and kelped for a half hour. Extensive search for keys failed and I got a ride to my office and back with, thanks!!!. Wind had picked up and Angelicco had found my key so I did a quick session and managed to do some decent flagged out S turns on the bumps with my front foot further past centreline. 45 years of windsurfing brain rebels against putting the ... Waded out at 130pm for an afternoon session on the rising tide. Decent wind that dropped below the threshold of the 5m after the first 1/2hr. A few weeds made getting back on foil in the second half a struggle, so called it. A bigger wing would have helped.

Quick session. Wind was around 10 knots when rigging and built nicely to 15 knots by the time I was finished. 100% on gibes. 50% on tacks.

Like a summer day on the bay! Sun, fun, and a few dozen wings on water and beach. Quite powered up on the outside and some fun swell. Nice!
