Demo. I was more than curious to compare the new Goya Quad Custom 4 93 to my old Quad 92. Dan and Roz kindly lent me theirs. Comparison was in fully powered 4.5. Board seems to do everything better ' quicker to plane, more compact feel, litter underfoot, well-mannered when overpowered, balanced in the air. I love the feel! Another short afternoon thermal blowing by Clover. Got the best of it with HRock, Paul and RobD. Light in the bay with 15kts at the point. Opted for the 5m on the big foil to get the most out of it. Lots of holes and a swim at the end.

Another classic gale. Looked ok when I arrived but slowly died once I went out. Got going in a few of the warm micro puffs. Waited around and had a fun hour with some fun swell once it finally filled in. The wind still felt warm and weak though. Fun enough.

Followed Danno, Paul, and RobDS into some 6m winds (for me). Minimal swell, increased kelp, fine sunshine. I got a bit of swell play, but it wasn't quite big enough to flag with my limited skills. I stayed mostly in the bay and tried to progress my gybes. Did much better when entering the gybe goofy and exiting regular. Had much more difficulty entering regular and exiting goofy. GoPro seems to show that I'm not foiling the turn far enough so I end up without enough wind to power up the wing. A fix for next ... (more)

Five devils rode Whisky Run. Another devil went for a trail run. Then wind/surf checks at Whisky Run, Face Rock, and south jetty, and the rock. Two devils went out at south jetty and the other five went out at the rock. Great warm-up no consequence session at the rock to get my gear tuned (flat 4.5/92). Steep sand dune to climb, cut by the winter storms, on the way back to the parking lot. Sunset dinner and beach campfire at Secret Beach south pull-out! Full day!

We looked for pickup games at several fields after our Whiskey Run ride. Whiskey run beach, gold beach jetty, the cape, and finally at the rock. Lots of windsurfers and kites out. Beach break was small. I felt like Bobson today as the only winger! Fun swell and caught a few inside rides. After beers and a chat with Leo rounded out the session!

Fog in the hole, sun, fun and WINDY all freakin day and till dark. A tad cold at night with the fog rolling in and the wind still present. Road excellent, the usual "full campsite" yet not full and tons of room on the lake, no wifi in camp only up at the office/checkin. Good fun down in MacNabbLand, great rollers for downwinding! Nice post sail drinkies and fire pits. Summer is here!

Early. On the water about 8:30 am. More wind. More swell. More smiles. Then off to the coast!
Wind/surf check in Newport ' looked good but wasn't keen on sailing solo.
Convoy grew to seven in Florence last night. Some had winged Neptune. Others had been out at Flo. We all played disk golf in Reedsport and stayed in Coos Bay that night. The locals treated us to donuts in the parking lot at 3 am with the Baja lights and tunes blaring ' sweet!
