Novelty Neptune session. Beautiful spot but very gusty. Foil seems to work here well. Windsurfing would have been tough in the lulls. Scenic! Epic foil SUP yesterday at Agate; many 2 for ones on the new foil (1475MA). Much easier to pump.

We stopped in at Neptune beach to take look. Good place for a practice. Kitted up the 5.2 and sailed for an hour. 3.5 was a better fit for the second hour. A couple shoulders to ride. Fun spot!

Finally a decently long session busting up cobwebs. Years worth! Borrowed another twin tip & enjoyed powered, sometimes OP success but still not staying fully upwind. Gained ground for a good while, then lost it, more so as I got a bit tired. Finished w/juice in tank tho, great

Sweet sunrise Saturday session, 0630 launch, but not the first on the water! Fun session on the slippery 1350MA foil. Well powered for the first half, then maximizing the wind and glide for the second half. Great to see Chuck on his trusty 10m and surfboard and Bruce on the wing foil. A few weeds as the tide flowed, but mostly clear.

Wind was south which made for an easy departure from the beach around the kelp. No 10 min drama trying to drag through the forest to get to open water. Swell from the south and west made the foil feel a bit twitchy. Long reaches between clover and brotchie were fantastic. Love the south wind.

Interesting and weird session. No one really there and yet really good conditions with a 5 m. Struggled a bit with a new KT direct drive. The new handles are heavy. New learning. Got even worse by puncturing the new wing as a result of an upturned Foil in wind and chop. Decided to keep going with the hope that the tear wouldn't get any bigger. A very good idea. I ended up having one of the most breakthrough sessions I've ever had. I cleared jibes and tacks with my longest toe side flights yet. My first ... (more)

RB was empty when Idefix and I jumped in with our 6mX3. This was a good choice for about 15min until the winds strengthened. Idefix quickly switched to his 5m and likely switched to his smaller foil. I, however, was too lazy and decided to just suck it up and foil OP'd. The swells were about 1m and the smoothest that I had ever noted. I had lots of semi-flagged runs pretending to surf the swell. All fun! Got lots of gybe practice too and better progressed that skill. Fun session all around!

Glorious never had such a steady wind at EL before. Was nicely powered 4 when I started foiled off the beach. It eased off gradually and I switched to 5 and was goldilocks for another hour. Feel beat up like learning windsurfing or kiting. Last 20 minutes was some hard pumping. A fin windsurfer (Stefan?) was still in the straps planing after I packed it in. Couldn't find my 4.0 bag packing up zero idea how it went missing.

Couldn't resist as we drove by and the SE was still pumping up on the Coast, so slapped on the wet wetsuit and headed out for another sesh.

Some decent M swell outside sadly didn't materialize into anything decent by the river mouth, but fun nonetheless.

Jet lag from La Suisse had me up at 4am and noticed some rustling of the trees whilst enjoying my cuppa. Knew we were shooting for an early(ish) ferry to the Coast but decided to head down to Bbay anyway.
Rewarded with 2 hrs nicely powered 10m and surfboard. Thought I was the early bird but two other keen-bean kiters (Mike and Jerin) were already on it!
Fun rides with Sixline/James off the Mike Marker. Wind lulled, so called it and headed back home to pack and head to HShoe Bay.

Started on the 106/5.3 combo and managed a few powered runs between slogs. Then took a break and something told me to bring the 96 out. It had indeed picked up and a got a good hour of powered runs. Some surprisingly large swell rolling by out front too. Not bad for a 10 knot model prediction. These Summer ESE forecasts usually deliver more. There is always a glimmer of hope when I see a light ESE for this time of year and it usually hits SP nicely when the sun heats up the pavement in Parksville. Joined by ... (more)

Marginal conditions at early afternoon as Greg headed out in his 7m and I chose my Cab6.2m. Within 15min we were both OP'd and Greg went to switch to 5m while my laziness kept me out for an hour. I lost some gybe competence, but that may have been partly because those were the biggest swells I have yet hit! Tons of FOD hazard to flight as my previous day's drone view showed me. There was much foil clearing and I'm sure a hit a real kelp tree that stopped me cold. Cool to share the swells with so many expert ... (more)

Made a couple of gybes for a change. Still a long way to go.
Lots of driftwood and flotsom. And the wind backed off a couple of times, once to the point I paddled back to the beach.

Amazing river of waves but iffy wind that eventually died. Didn't hang around for the comeback. Still trying to tame the new mast and 1099. Got thrown off a few times. Eelgrass hell.

Went out foiling behind a friends boat to try and improve wave riding skills, harder than I thought on 30l board, wind came up later and decided to wing for a bit, super gusty gustier than normal for the lake from 15-20 to 0 then back up foil and wait foil and wait.

Impossible to avoid the junk everywhere but rides were worth it. Lot do people out. 4 is getting some love so had to use the 5.5 which was ok since it dropped considerably and ended up slogging in.

After work quickie. Frustratingly light on the beach, then super cranking outside. Big swells out there , woulda been great downwinger conditions. No one around but did get to meet young Maverick Frang. Gonna be a ripper one day, he's already better than Marty.

Sweet sunset power hour! A ten minute lull in the middle but it came back even stronger. Nice rising tide and little to no weeds. Good to get out, even if solo.
