after i braved the trees down, creeks on the road, landslide at shirley etc i ended up sailing all alone on my 4.7 for an hour untill superstars tyler and colin from the mainland drove up and put on a show. penguin and kus showed up as i rigged down to the 4.2. waves were great downwind of the point with occasional mega-swells breaking out in the bay. The river mouth was seriously messed up with the current. had some great rides down the line today. :twisted: where was everyone!

Best session ever at Pat Bay - well, actually, the ONLY good session I've ever had at Pat Bay. Felt lack of stoke and didn't want to face Cook. Started off lame, it dropped while I rigged, I slogged a few hoping Russian Dude wasn't watching :roll: . Nice conditions, waves generally in the 2-4 ft range with the odd head high set. Windy on the outside, mellow on the inside, super gusty(no problem with the One). The only other company were Downwind Dave, Kus and 2 other kiters from Vancouver. Kus was still going for it when I left.

Headed over on the ferrry to Vancouver to visit the parents. Decided to stop by Boundary Bay (72nd) to check it out. Saw some guys out there so I geared up and inflated the 8m...almost having it ripped out of my hands..deflated the 8m and inflated the 5m. Man...was I ever overpowered on the 5m :shock:
Did a few runs and then decided I was chancing life as I was the only remaining guy out there so I came back in.
Definately the craziest day kiting I have had :D

Looked windy, wasn't :? rerigged. Bang on 1hr, Zen waveriding w/ Hoser, steady build. Tried one backie, not close :cry: made monkey & helitack first try in waves, oh yeah :P Kiters & Odyssey showed, bit later wind got silly for 5.8, getting lifted, rerigged again to 4.8 but it got flukey. An amazing CB day. Used up much of my juice in the small stuff in the morning then at 11 the swell swelled up and the down-the-line waverideing was amazing. Saw a great pushie from DWD and some classic endoes by the doc. Landed almost all of my own loops on my back. Worth all the trouble I was in when I got home :wink:

Now this is weird :? One sesh :lol: Got there after long delay, great waves in bay and outer bar, bar turned to chop late so played in break. Longest downthelines ever including Oregon :shock: Many cutbacks, got several turns & huge rides on bigger waves, no ramps. Arrived to calm waters in the am but as soon as the W247 family arrived and got settled into some refreshments the wind started gently hinting of things to come and it just kept building all day!
Found a hole through the shorebreak for a couple of fun wave runs and had to sheet out to get back downwind to my launch spot where I made an entertaining (according to my dry land family) landing......yes more sand in the teeth!! The first part of the session was pretty tame and even a bit frustrating with the lack of good ramps. Bean and DWD were both throwing some great loops, with DWD skying some really high backies. Russian Dude threw a good endo attempt and was stoked. The rest of the crew showed up with the increasing wind and surf and BWD had more turns on a wave at CB than I've ever seen there. Started on the 4.5, then it cranked. Went to the 4.0 then it really cranked. Very, very nice waves with some longish wave rides and some fun smacks. Bean with some nice endos and Doc with lots of backloops. A bit cold and kinda windy at the end since the sail was getting ripped out of my hands trying to waveride. Pelting rain at times felt like small rocks. Good fun and a great start to the year.

Arrived as the full on hate began - Rigged 5 then unrigged for smaller stuff. A smaller board would have been nice, but it was just great to snag a fantastic new years feast with the usual suspects. Wasn't expecting TOW until ~Jan 10th. Absolutely the best wave rides I've had at CB yet :). At one point, I was the only fool out - damn windy. Janet fish is hunting for an ~85 L used board... 100L is not quite the ticket at CB... Anyone selling a 3.5 ezzy?? :shock:

Fought the shorebreak three times till I finally got out. Not much juice left, and had rigged for the lulls, so outside I was oversailed and over-boarded. Marcus reporting 35 knots on the outside. Only did a couple of runs, with a rest in between. Finally got around to switching double back footstrap to centred one, that made it a whole lot easier. Great friends, chili and pie in the Windwagon, and more pie and beer in the Wind Kushine to finish.

Okay session but not too much stoke. Windsurfers were having a blast. REally need a flat kite to get the most out of these conditions. I counted bwd do 6 or 7 cutbacks down a long wave - nice 'n smooth.

Managed to talk the in -laws out of skiing and into watching me throw hate at CB. Drive up in the van was worst ever. Savage rain with mixed snow. Only a few soles out today, but Santa came early and bringeth a toy doll named Gale. Big endo over rotation to start the session. Highlights: landed a port fwd on the face planing into a lip smack, almost landed a backie (definately closest ever) Got a nice laydown bottom turn into a little lip smack. Some very sizable waves.
