:D Nukin' when we arrived so we all rigged 4.0 - 4.2's and were maxed out most of the time. Lots of looping going on all over the place and some nice swellage early on. Came down a notch mid morning so some of us rigged up but we were still getting some heavy gusts. Then as the blue sky approached the wind died and the sun came out to make for good suit changing weather.Nice to score 2 sessions and only do the drive once - thanks WD. :D

Rigged by myself in the dawn darkness and driving rain - "am I an insane looser" I thougt ... "maybe" was the answer. Got hurled around in the 40+ gusts with high speed buckshot spray to the face at first light but it made the 30-35 later on seem like a cakewalk. 4.2 for three hours - beautiful. Lots of forwards and a big fun crowd layin' it down (once team vodka stumbled in). WICKED FUN! I hope it's not another two months 'till we do THAT again.

    1.50 hours starboard carve 99
    sailworks revolution 4.8
After the lull in the wind at Willows when everyone left the wind came blasting down the parking lot from the west. Well, that and two cups of coffee and Mf4 pacing (still in his wet suit) conceived the idea of a second session.......so off we raced to Esquimalt Lagoon.

Used up valuable energy squeezing back into a wet, soggy suit, rigged the 4.8 and headed out on the Carve. Turned out to be the perfect combo for gusty blasting out to the crab traps and back. Great day!

First run out felt great til I found myself too close to shore and got sucked into the hole of despair at the end of the beach. Survived the shore break and had a impromtu conference with Shred Betty, plotting our next move. Struggled up the beach and launched further upwind and enjoyed some decent shorter runs in the waves. Lots of time in the water (love those mitts) and getting tossed through the 'washing machine' at the shore.......but verrry fun.

I should've stayed on 4.0 :D sucked it up more and kept going till I got worked in a shore break lost my gear and had a megaswim to retrieve it. Totally drained my energy.

NUKIN! It was VERRRRRY gusty at times, but the combo of 95/4.0 seemed to work fighting through the small but powerful shore break. Did many short walks, but caught some really long wave rides. Thought about trying a loop, but after two great 'god yanks' over the handlebars, gave up on it today...... Tried the 5.0 for two reaches - one very overpowered in the middle of the session, once at the end just before the shut-off. Great to see all the smiles around the beach unrigging in the su ... Wahoo, double sesh today! Thanks to WW &WR for the spare towel so I could drive to EL in my wetsuit. Hoping for SW but got W. Chose a big board and little sail. Hard to get off the beach with swirly gusty sideoff wind, shorebreak not big but a big deep step at just the wrong spot. One lousy run and a walk of shame, way over or way under, decided to try some flatwater blasting on inside. Held mouth very tight when in water, but not obviously nasty. Bean was on fire today. Endo-meister. Trev slammin' the backside hits, Dave aerialling backside off the lips, Ozy and Paul ripping as usual, Don skying jumps, and everyone else with more waves than they new what to do with. Solid crowd, but big stoke. I was hopeless on my back loops. Just short on some and hammering other flat ones with the rig exploding out of my hands. It's a different sport looping in big wind! Fantastic 2 days of CB lovin'. SO GOOD.

Dawn patrol paid off. Thought I was an early bird, and was shocked to see the Bean charging in near darkness in 35-40. Frantically rigged 3.7 and then the Lantzville bar stars showed up in a convoy. Awesome day. Raging with big swell and everyone throwing hate. Bean was charging with big endos. Saw BWD get a nice aerial back side smacker. Nice oozing wound on the hand after sailing. Good sign. Great to feel the amp level on high today. Nice work everyone. Fun to have people pushing it like that.

Started off with some nice swell, then got kinda flat near the end. Nice to be back in sideshore conditions again. A little cold on the hands. Wicked evening with the boyz in Schooner Cove. Finally saw the death metal band Guano live, I didn't even realize they were back together. Crazy crowd - a little nervous being packed in tight like that. Thanks to winddoc for letting us crash up there.

Fantastic session even though it was only gusty 5.0 - 5.5 wind. Inside ramps were perfect for forwards/backs and I finally sailed away from 2 more backs. The big Freak is nice for landing backs with the soft feel. Great to sail with the boys. The Gwar concert at Schooner Cove rocked.

Fun day with everyone. Had some good wave rides but had to give up after the forearms and biceps started crapping. Over nighted it with the Victoria crew at Winddoc's parents place...plan was to get up earliy but no one planned on meeting some of the hottest 60+ women in Schooner Cove. What happens in Schooner Cove stays in Schooner Cove  . Good times...pure HATE

Bit shocked to find out that it was blowing after a long morning walk with dunkingirl. Managed to talk girl into a road trip and caught the tail end of the day. Most of da boyz were cold and done, but Doc came back out for a quick rip. Hopefully tomorrow am dawn patrol pans out.

:D ahh - the Mighty Columbia comes thru again. Not an epic day but high tide makes decent waves even in moderate wind. Lots of people goin' off. TheLaw owning the downwind sets. RD down-the-lining (OR coast training shows :!: ). BWD doing fat laydown bottom turns - NICE. WindDoc throwing backs (sailaways too - WOW - sweet) and forwards. Wingnut hucking long jumps on the new retro sail. Arturo showing off on the new sail - great colours. Lots of others going hard. Fun to watch and inspiring. Had a ... (more)
