The good wind died as the morning crew came off the water.

But there was still enough for fun for a few.

Pretty holey wind by the end.

Awesome low end on the 14!!!

 One of the most beautiful kiting days ever - white fog rolling over the yellow kite with a blue sky popping in and out, just astonishingly asthetic and wonderful. Some strong wind and a little lift early, petered out as more folks showed up. One close call with a motorboat cruinsing close to shore who couldn't hear or see me until I was almost in his cabin! Actually felt sorry for the dude....

Well, it is Floriday !! Arrived to 100 F, humidity and light winds... Spent one day 'surfing' ankle biters at Cocoa beach (a nose ride or too) then today PM on an AHD formula with a Gaastra 9.8 for a few hours. Onshore winds made getting away from shore a chore, but stable light winds allowed some decent planing. Nice people, uncrowded (3 boards, no kites) and bathtub warm ocean. Can't wait for the next session at CB though.....

Golden hour my friends, golden hour. Arrived ~5, rigged, and voila, perfect reaches to Maude Island (~2.5 km) in relatively stable 7.5-6.5 conditions. One "jump" with a gust, but mostly cruisin' with the Carve. Last two (shorter) reaches were 'upwind without a plane' practice (seems I still need to work on that Dan :). An excellent way to finish the last golden rays of the sun. Very Nice.

Solo dawn patrol again at a new spot (for me). Stared out looking like skunkage but it filled in and I would have put the 5.0 on, but went to work instead :? . Tried some vulcans - got nowhere, partly thanks to cold hands for the first time since spring. Should have waited and sailed at lunch instead. Still, nice way to start the day :D .

A fantastic first of the year CB session. Arrived for the wind up, which had me out there for 2 hrs on a 5.0 when 4.5 woulda done just fine (can you say sheet out?). Back in for da 4.5, and out for two more hours. It felt lighter ~4PM, so I called it quits (OK, I was a little tired), then it cranked back up to 4.0 or more, giving the later arrivals a session and keeping da wind doctor out for more!!! I shoulda taken the 72L board.... Some decent rides in and a few successful outbound ... (more)

Good action on the water...Morewind hunking some nice fwds, Bean doing some wicked endos, Doc rotating every time I saw him and Trev over rotating some nice backs. Fun! :D Nice to get an early start to the SE season for a change. Even though the swell was less than spectacular it was a fun session and the biggest turnout that most of us had ever seen - must've been 25 or more WS today. Lots of looping action all day by Trev, Chris, Mike, Dave, Ozy, Bean (did I miss anyone?). Great for high, floaty jumps early on, then diminished later. :D

Drove up with DWD and got the stoke on as he cranked out some solid Metallica unplugged on the guitar. Never really seen so many happy people at CB at once. Stellar Epic good times. Loops happening all over the place. Swell started lame, got pretty decent mid tide then backed off again. Too much fun. Thanks Lee and Starboard Steve for the Black Forest Hate( I mean Cake). Rib feeling solid today.

Arrived at noon with Dan-O, Grant and Steve and checked out S Chesterman gusting to 35 on the beach. Squamish crew went out on 6s and 8s looking overpowered. Rigged at Cox bay where it was slightly lighter but quite on shore and silly gusty. I put up my 9 and it seemed to want to invert (must do that bridle mod) so waited for 3 hours. Meanwhile Steve and Dan were fighting with 8s and Grant was sickly dialed on a 6m Diablo slicing up big faces. Mark Sprungman (I think) looked too comfortable and super fast w ... (more)
