On the Manic only 1/2 hr, downhauled to max, then 4.8, couldda been on 4.2 at times (if I'd brought it along :roll: ) Who knew?? One of best days at the Lake ever, playing near Nat River mouth in wavelet, nice lOoooooong day sailing. :D Another great nitnat day. Out on the fish and 5.7 at 1230 and was way overpowered by 0100. Spent a couple of hours with Kuz down by nitnat river with some good swellies. Went back down for a couple of hours by myself down to 100 m from the end of the lake and it set up nicely. On my way back the wind went from powered up 5.0 to nothing and had to swim back to the village half and hour coulden't even body drag. What a beautiful day! Wind came in very quickly. Enjoyed the bay for with the regular crew before heading off to Ross Bay with Tom. Wind started to get a little wierd, and so came back only to see kites falling. Did my best to get close to shore, and lucked out with the tide/wind. Actually enjoyed(!) my swim in with the sun on my face, as the current brought me west. Classic north Nanaimo/Caribbean conditions. Breaking swell, speed ponds, steady wind. My best session in a while. I switched from 26 to 23m lines. Wow what a huge difference in turning speed. I can't say enough good about the 14 Diablo - its a dream kite.
Snapper was looking awesome on the skimboard and 12m kite.

Not a good day for me. Tryin a railey, hit the release on the chicken loop, 16 flared and then the bar rode all the way to the kite, no chance of relaunch. Set up again, sailed abit, then decided to loop it :evil: , yeh, landed it with moocho speed, but the tip of the kite hit the water, then funny thing happened, with my speed up, I pass my kite on the water, never had that happen, so it does the death roll downwind, lines so messed up had to beach it again :oops: . Sure enough all the signs predicted another Nuclear Monday. Pure Joy.......I thought I'd missed them for this year!! I rigged the 4.2 for insurance and headed out on the lake with the Surfwood and 4.8 Revo. An hour later, completely OP, I was scrambling back to the beach for the 4.2. Spent the rest of the afternoon trying to keep the board on the water and not in the air!! Never even considered packing a smaller sail this time of year!!

:D Arrived at 2, not enough, went for an hour workout, then came back by 4pm and it was picking up. Rigged up and out on the water by 4:30pm and planed the whole time. Amazing wind at the end. Made huge long runs out and back, probably 5 minute runs out sooooo flippin far. Wind was most amazing, mostly flat with some small rolling swell which was fun to catch a bit of air off while going at Mach 1 on the BIG GEAR!! YAHOO! :D

A couple of pump-to-plane runs on the big gear, then switched down to little board. The fog last night indeed made for a classic day. Way OP 4.5 for much of the last while, could have sheeted in a bit if I'd rigged 4.0. Planed through a few gybes earlier and made most of them dry even in the biggest wind, first time ever. My most successful day ever in big wind! :lol: :lol: :lol: Waves looked biggest yet while packing, superb conditions for the lucky ones staying over!

Yep a classic 4.0 September day at Gordo's :roll: Good fun. Lots of chop and wind on the inside and some smooth swell at times on the outside but lighter wind. Counted 18 wsurfers and 4 kites out. Morewind hucking some nice fwds, other Mike going for backs.

:D That was a fun sesh, especially the first hour. Very powered on the 4.7 on the outside with nice big smooth rollers 1/4 mile from shore. Some of the guys were on 3.6- 4.0 sails the whole time. Rudy broke his mast later on - luckily he was fairly close to shore and got a tow in by JD I believe. Too bad it got choppy later on. That was my 5th. :D mid-summer conditions in Sept :D some good rolling swell at first, cruel chop nearer shore. a few fun forwards on the outside, and my best upwind 360 ever on the Evo :) great turnout. BWD loopin' and shuvin' all over the gordos playground. Asscrack looking hateful on his bow kite. RD providing coaching on the forward into vulcan move. Great Sept day :!:
