:D Great session today,on the water very early on the 13 meter instinct.Then it got real interestingly windy,switched down to the nine meter,and boy was I glad I did.Who Ha!What a fun time on the waves,windsurfers were ripping it up.And so was I. So was Jimmy,JO,and Christine. :roll:

Almost the same as the previous day except that the swell was dropping. Not that it made much difference, the conditions were still ridiculous. I ended up paying the price and ripping my kite completely in the middle break--a 5 foot dump zone(7 foot faces). Managed an efficient self rescue, so all is well that ends well.
I also had 3 good surfing sessions, 2 at Victoria Bay and one at ding Dangs--nice to be on a surfboard again after a long absence.

Another great day at the lake with friends. More wind today creating some lump for chop hop attempts. Made more port tack jibes than wipeouts on both boards.......really have to start getting the starboard ones now!! A nice fogbank developed late in the day promising big things for the morning! Got some 9m at Macktush yesterday. Windy, Gusty, Brutal launch. Unfortunately it's not a kiting spot due to the narrow beach (only 15' wide at high) and very poor wind at the beach. Perfect day in my books, sweeet sweet smooth wind, locked in solid on the 16, fully sheeted at some times but good lift. Went out on the 12 later and had a ball as well. Went back down to windsurferland, discovered yesterday some good lift just by the boat launch behind the big stump so thought I would check it out again today.

FINALLY got to sail Nimpkish Lake! Third time lucky I guess...I always drive by when heading north to do some kayaking. It's a gorgeous lake, a FREE campground (with garbage removal), and the wave pattern definitely has some sweet secrets hidden away for the next time(s) I'm up that way. Ridiculous and gusty. the outside was smooth, not that I ventured out there too often as there was a nice 6-7 foot middle break. The waves were breaking top to bottom and I was downright scared, especially with the gusty wind. Lots of powerful whitewater as well, making it even more nerve wracking. All in all, a very humbling experience. We ended up doing a 6 km down winder, the wind was pure sideshore.
The marine forecast stated that there was an 18m swell, so i guess we got lucky that it wasn't comming ... (more)

Lotsa slogging, pumping 4rides. Decided to tack practice to stay upwind, helis led to regular tacks. Only made 3 tacks on port EVER, upwards of 40 in a row, both ways :shock: couldn't figure out what I did wrong all these years but man, didn't blow a single tack ALL SESH :twisted: Better gusts near end, ripped back/forth to Chatham few times, then tank was empty. Sailing with Whales RULES!!! :roll: Good for 45mins of planing then I turned into Pumpson, then turned into slogson. Best part of today was the sail in between 10-15 whale watching boats, about 200 meters away from a pod of whales!! Amazing!!!! A couple big one and a couple smaller ones, one of the whale watching boats was saying they were coming in close to hunt so don't get too close. Nice to use the 9m ONE today for a change, but could easily have been on the 12m ONE as Ross was. Sorry not to have seen JL, but nice to see the Watsons and Joe and Christina enjoying the crazy wind! Busy out there - people feel the end of the season coming perhaps? 3 days of 9m type wind in a row at the end of August is quite unusual :D .

Kook Hat Trick :P Best day ever on ProTec, that thing rocked today :D Wind On/off drills again. Bit under mostly but still hi speed, sum real wicked jumps way out, shorter wave rides getting used to harsher rails, practicing lo volume helis & 360's, bottom panel & clue first pump/gust waterstarts, mast uphauls in shore waiting for better wind, man my arms are tired :roll: Another nearmiss kitemare :oops: maybe time for tourist signs in launch area :wink:
