I think I would have to get some different gear if I were to sail at the lake a lot more than I do. I freestyle board would be nice to aid me in tricks...I just suck at most...best move of the day was the one-handed hand drag in front of Winddoc...he was in awe :twisted: . I did have a few pretty good boomarangs....most seemed to boom without the rang. Fun to sail with the crew...which is expanding with the addition of a couple of ladies.
Can't wait for CB to start up!!!!!

After a last minute decision to come to Nitinat for the weekend, I was estatic to get out on the water to get in the footstraps. :D By early afternoon the wind was perfect for me to practise, and after getting some more instructions from Rob, Winddoc, and Steph, I took the plunge (warrior face), and got in the front straps, and slipped into the back straps temporarily. First day back on the water after a 5 week hiatus due to the chostochondral separation of the Mc Rib. Now with a new and improved bubble wrapped spreader bar I can sail. The hate lump as I have diagnosed it, is kind of a pain as it juts out into the side of my harness. I am hoping that after a complete heal it won't bother me too much. With no wind at home, apparently the Cook St. regulars went to the lake - Ross, Trevor, Ed, Erik Vadardog, Simon, Mike, Grant and Kendra Johny Read, and San, Suze, Chrisand I made at least 14 of us up there this weekend! KSD was going huge, surprising given the lack of lift, which was the only thing missing.

Breakthrough kite session. Stayed upwind the whole session until I crashed the kite and couldn't relaunch. Did another self rescue and spent the next morning playing the untangle game. I'll be stoked when I stop swimming in, losing my board, and start jumping intentionally!

Fun with friends on a lightwind day. Wow does that little board ever plane up easy and is fine with the 5.8. Got one forward to backsplat in but mostly focusing on vulcans and keeping up with Law man's antics (facial contortions and bum drags mostly). Switched to phase II of the vulcan project - the hand work. Was able to get around and hold on to the other side of the boom a few times. Slid backward on one for the first time - I can't wait to get one!

Fun for me and people on flat kites! Good swell, goofy wind. Glad to ride in the sunshine and warmth - not many days left of that this season. Ross was going big, and could generate the speed/apparent wind to even things out. Ed (mr. spinmeister) was making his Diablo work wonders. The swell was awesome at the end (got washed out by a 4' breaking rogue wave over the reef ) but hard to ride with the mostly lousy wind. Busy at first, then just a few of us at the end. no lift today.

Another fun session after work. I've never sailed anywhere before with 20+ knots of wind and no whitecaps. It is so flat and perfect for freestyle and the locals (all 3 of them) are super friendly. Lots of helis, backwind gybes, boomerangs, tacks, hoss tacks. Heading home tomorrow...woohoo.

Wind soooo S, thought I'd try Ross Bay, some fun playing behind C-Point in the waves. Decent ramps but a bit under most times. Strangely flat in front of the point but small, yet decent side-on rideable sets off the inside. Kiter boyz showed up for a bit, then sailing solo @point. Few weeds were a pain, then wind shut down, slogged in & swam last 50, entertaining beachgoers. Turned W, never filled in, sum tiny chick loved it tho :!: nice sunny day, schnoze loved that 8)

Finally got on the water after working 12hr shifts for the past week. Driving back to the hotel in Chelan I noticed it was windy and I looked for a place on the Columbia to launch. Finally saw some sails on the water and met up with 3 local sailors. Fun place - windy and lots of current but super flat. The most wind I've sailed in with the flattest water - great for tricks. Gusts were easily 4.5 able.

hmmm. nothing to complain about, but nothing like the gale that was forecast. welcome to late August, i guess. cool watching Ross do his backspin kite loops, looking smooth he is. one of these days I'll try one. And vadardog with his kiteloop handlepass - i will NOT try that! Today felt like a warm up - hopefully tomorrow will bring the full meal deal :)
