On the 6.0 and 121 for a couple of hours then the wind dropped off and moved to the GO and 8.5 at about 4. Stayed on the water for 6 hrs!! HOT wind. Wore a shortie the entire time.

Loads of fun racing around the mark on far side with gang. Pastadude arrives and joins in on fun. Kelly and Wreckless return from fishing in Port Alberni and report outflowing in Alberni. Lucky for us the temperature gradient is large enough to counteract any outflow on the lake. Scorching hot again.......refreshing swims by all in the river a necessity.

Glass calm all morning but wind filled in quick by early afternoon. Looked like it was going to crank but it never did. It actually got lighter as the day progressed until I was totally slogging on the JP and 5.4. I started on Sandra's RRD but was so powered up I switched to the JP. It was OK for a while and then the wind got pretty lame.
Fun week with lots of friends and a few new faces. Thanks all for the good times. Back for more next week!!

Wow......it's hot!!! Looks more like Hawaii North than Nitinat. Still practicing jibes.......great conditions. No luck with my tacking attempts. Loads of jellyfish in the lake .......more than any other year. Lea got stung all around her ankles by the guys with the foot long tenacles. Windfish impressed everyone by bringing back a live fish that he 'stunned' on a crash during a jibe!!! Unbeleivable spot. The Locals(at least 20) are really friendly. They are happy to let you do a 2 mile downwinder with them and then give you a ride back to the starting point along the beach. The wind is very side on shore, so it is down the line the whole way. The wind hardly stopped blowing ans was kitable(12-15 knots at 8am and usually good to sundown) Floras lake is a flatwater alternative to the waves, with most of the kiting from 10-50foot from the windward shore. Third trip this spring/summer with temperature at the lake (on beach) >30 degrees. Light winds today unlike the past two hot spells when it blew up to 25 knots. Mellow sailing on the Carve 99 with sucessful jibes on far side. Lis, Craig and kids arrived this am..............cooking for ten now and trying to squeeze in enough sailing time!! Pretty uninspiring wind today. Sailed late again on both the JP and Sandra's RRD. Wind picked up a notch late but the lake was pretty flat so just practiced jibes, some heli's and a couple of duck jibe attempts. Got the sail flip on a couple but lost it trying to sheet in.

First outing on the Infinity Ezzy 8.5 I bought from KC7777. Excellent sail. Was on the water for 2.5 hours rippin (only two of us out) in 11 - 14 kt conditions. Then the wind jacked up a little and I got some time on the 6 and 121. Good times!

Rick and kelly up at 5:30 to fish Swiftsure Bank and later the W247 family arrives for the week. We are starting to take up a large portion on the beach with kiddie toys, tables, and noise! Wait til the other part of my family arrives tomorrow!!

:D :D :D :D :D Nukinat returns!! Although slow to build, after 0.75 hr on the 6.0/Go, it was full enough to transition to the 6.0/95L for 2.5 hrs, and 1.5 hrs on a 5.0/95L when it notched up. Less pulsy wind than in recent history. Had 3 excellent, more than a boardlength up from the water jumps (one witnessed by windwoman :) that were landed without a spinout. Morewind suckered me into starting on the 5.0 with his big board. Switched to 5.8 and still meh. Had a boring time for a while then finally there was enough wind to plane off the beach, the ramps set up perfecty over the reef and got in about 4 forwards all to my back. They feel slow with the big sail. Starting to loose the fear :twisted:

hmm. mediocre wind. would have liked more wind for the inaugural run on Sandra's NEW 9m ONE kite. Conditions were perfect high powerd 12 ONE. As it is, had some fun on the outside and a few lil' jumps, but nothing like yesterday's superlift. Took some video footage with the compact camera. The kite will rock in high winds!

Arrived to see the afternoon shift coming off the water with mostly stokeless faces. Sweet. Kus and Morewind egged me on to rig the 5.8 and go out. Hucked my best forward of the night on the first reach out, then proceded to punish my back on every attempt (about 10 more) thereafter. Could not finish the last 1/4 of the rotation to save my life! :evil: Had fun anyway and sailed with Voodmon and watched Colin loft some big jumps in the beautiful pre-dusk light.
