You'd think I'd know by now: go early on the NE, do chores later. Squarehead :!: Cheese'n Rice  It was a great whitecapping bay whilst rigging but they all ran away....left with a few runs in gusts & redeeming myself doing helitack practice...until is sucked even more. Super low tide  Hung out for a bit, watched it tease with a few caps and ....gave it the finger :x

Good to get out for a windy session - first ever Canadian 8m session! A fantastic kite. Wasn't feeling inspired, however, so a few good jumps early while it was windy, than just cruising and enjoying the scenery. Johny was going huge on his 10m.

What a great sail. Wind was crazy, and the waves were the biggest I've ever sailed. Was planing and hooked in tons, but didn't even attempt footstraps - way too fast! Almost did a tack. For the most part was able to sail upwind, although would lose ground while reorganizing my gear at each tack/gybe, so rarely ended up back where I started! No gloves, hands were cold, but no problems with my forearms like last time.

Watched wicked winds all day, sore & lame I was gonna let it pass. Got burst of energy @3, water texture looking like 4.0  I EVO'ed on flat 4.8 enjoying swell & waves only to realize winds were dropping fast. One decent backloop attempt early w/ Evo, those w/ Jesus were hopeless later w/ no wind. Can't believe I didn't go at lunch  No luck w/heli's lately  like skill got erased from brain :?:

Stoked with the new kite. Kites out ranged from 7m One, 8m and 10m. I never felt uncomfortable on the 12. It has amazing abillity to absorb the gusts. for those doubters, it is worth demoing a bow kite. the analogy would be: C Kites = 2 line kites and Bow kites = 4 line kites when they were first introduced. Very forgiving.

Awesome day :D Heavy wind all the way up the strait made for big swell and killer port ramps  . Tried first back loops on port and almost sailed away from two of them :D . So great to finally have a good long sesh. Unfortunately, it ended with the wind dropping and turning west so a few of us had a long annoying schlog to end up downwind of the beach :? . Gotta start remembering the sunscreen! 8)

Good to get back on the water after a solid 2 or so month dryspell. Felt like a super kook as Super Dave was launching massive kiteloopy spinny things in my geeky winsurfer face. Definately a kiter day out there. Still fun to get wet and dust off the gear. Nice and sunny and quite warm. Saw BWD rip his strap off in a savage endo forward! Good action.

Wow that was so fun, totally absorbing. took a while to get used to the "wrong" direction at CB but then surf was better than the normal SE. Was actually underpowered since I set the pigtail long. you notice the higher pressure wind has less power than moist winter wind ... Mostly too gusty to try any big boosts but lots of waves riding. :D

:D Rigged up the 5.6 at JR but then the wind got lighter and there was a lot of slogging going on, so I packed up and went back to Gordon's with Mark who said it was much windier there. Turned out to be a good call - 4.7 right to the beach. The first hour made the day worth while with great jumping ramps all over and lots of wind and clean swell on the inside to ride. Woohoo. :D

First session in the Pacific this year. Great to get on the water again. All the warmth must have been left at JR because Gordo's felt cccccold!

Meh. :) Much much better than not going out at all! Got planing and in straps a couple of times, about 2 knots more would have been nicely powered. So light sometimes all the kites came in, and I often had trouble pivot gybing- I'd broad reach OK, but trying to go further, the board would demand to turn back into the wind. Barely enough to waterstart. One planing/crash gybe. I was last one on the water. Ogden reading 15 g 20 most of this time, maybe we should sail there?

Good times, good turnout and very warm. Small waves but the odd 3 footer came through. Mostly powered. Body hurts now.

A good warmup for the OR coast.
