got out too late...TOW includes time in water...wind switched south then pissed out on me totally, no way to get back to lee of clover or anywhere...found self drifting helpless in the flood tide towards trial island...hoping for a pickup...called in the angels..and behold a westerly...which got me, without swimming, to the west end of ross bay...thanks to... god and those who watch over me...

    Ezzy SE Wave 4.7
:D Started out cold and overcast and ended up cold and sunny. A little too up and down at first for the small board, but the 4.7 on the fish was just right. Good turnout, although Robin, Art and others left during a lull that filled in as soon as they left. Sounds like they scored at Clover pt. A little warmer would be nice.

Well that made up for yesterday  Great waves on the sandbar, no chop and even some sun at times. Just me, Morewind, and Geoff. Best IV session of the year for me, and maybe the last for a while.

MM5 and EC nailed the afternoon forecast for IV. Kept thinking about JL's post "It's over @ I-view...Try Willows or Kook"... hee hee 8)

Felt like winter again - 7 degrees, about as cold as New Years! Very gusty at first, wore myself out trying to slog/waterstart in lulls. Some very fast fun runs, made 2 stb gybes and 1 port, was happy given chop and very powered conditions - at end 4.5 would have worked nicely. Sun out after I came in, looked great! Chris throwing loops all over.

Inside a big lagoon. @ end of session wind was shifting s.e. to east...Interesting...NOTE: east pressure slope in a.m. shifted to n.e..

After a long wait (smelled like skunk, but finally got a nice squall), OPed on the 5.8 for a while, got one NEARLY planing gybe when OP on the outside, spinning out in head-on chop when OP, too much sail & fin, but better just to try and sail it than to try and fix it, it changed so fast up and down. Almost had to swim in last run. Loads of people out. NICE to be out there even if only 1/2 hour!

First session on the Waroo kite, it's a Supported Leading Edge (SLE) flat kite. The depower is awesome, and jumps were my highest ever. Steep big ramps, great fun in the waves.

Did a major bar booboo while spinning and landed HARD neck first for some excellent rag doll whip lash. Things happen fast at 30 knots.

    Best Session this year. :D

3 for 3 on southeast at Piper's. Well, Piper's isn't CB but it's better than scraping dung off a squirming toddler's scrotum - ALOT BETTER! Solid 5.0 and me without my small board. No ramps but managed a couple of micro tabletops and pulled off my first duck gybe on port. Fun except for the sailing alone factor.

Missed the big winds of mid-afternoon but a not bad after work sesh - except I was only one out, BWD and RD came down the stairs to watch for a bit. Coldest my hands have been all winter and I was wearing gloves. Jl says 2 C windchill. Made all my outside (missionary) jibes, but only one inside one. ?not enough power? I think I only sailed 1/2 hour, but from driving up to leaving was 1 3/4 hours.

The skim board without fins is so much fun for mellow cruising, its effortless. The wind picked up enough for the TT, some jumps and rolls. :D

Ahhhhhhh :D First sail since last fall. Couldn't resist the summer like weather. First rip on new Roberts board. Felt great. Smooth and plenty o' speed. Pretty responsive for a big-finned board too. Wind was OK at the start but got gusty and holey later on. Wind was steadier on the outside but too much for the 7.5. Still, felt good to get wet again :D

:D As Grant predicted, it was OPENING DAY at Cook St.! Unbelievablely warm (had to dip to cool off at one point) in the SUN, and the classic lofty Cook St. Slowly built, no real gusts of any consequece. That is what it is all about :) Best Canadian session since last summer by far...
