Marginal but I figure whattheheck, pulled left side of my back rigging  might as well get wet :x Started off ok but soon pumping, pushing board to plane, fiddled forever tuning new boom/lines, wind steadily stronger w/nicer waves, lots of great waverides 1/2 hr into things, one lame backloop attempt, some firewood around, nobody but one kite playing :?: left 4 family date, bummer, last 1/2hr B4 dark probably best, cool despite SSSSSUN :!: :!:

    8) Put on the shades today!! Arrived at Ross bay at 2pm to find lots o wind! 20kts and picking up. Thought better than to rig the 10m and try it. Drove to Cattle point in search of some flatter water and less wind. Found it, especially launching at the boat ramp. Had to swim gear out 50ft then uphaul. Good conditions after that even though a little gusty at times :P . Raced by a 33'ish sailboat sailboat a couple times  and sailed upwind then downwind for about an hour. pretty much survival mode for me today, paul and gene were slaying it. I was blowing my outside jibes just so i could rest - then the waves started breaking on the outside too. nowhere to hide! got rolled with gear 2x over by a macker that must have got lost on its way to JR.

A great session, not too crowded either :D . Super smooth swells on the inside, extra large swells on the outside. Crazy gusts from 15-35 at times. 1.5hrs TOW felt more like 3hrs... Morewind smackin' and carvin' like a pro. Lots of port jumps and fun backside lip smacks, got my highest port jump ever on one.

:D :D :D :D :D Nice session. A quick GO trip with 6.0 showed way too much gas on the far side. Similar to Nimkish launch on SE - wait for gust and go. Most of the session on 5.0/111, a few small chop hops and a few walks (SE is slightly offshore on the highway side). Watched a building (~10' X 12') float through - anyone loose a shed today? Finished up with 3 reaches with GO/5.0 when the winds got flakey ~4PM.... :D :D :D :D

Warm water, wind, feet and hands. Ah....Mexico! Puerto Vallarta apparently gets much better for wind in another month or so, but it was nice just to get wet.

Truly the crappiest windsurfing kit I've ridden. An old Teak boomed One Design with a blown out sail would have been high performance compared to the refuse I sailed on. A bit harsh? Nope.

Watched one guy kiteboarding the next day in about 15 knots. Banderas Bay, North of P.V., would be an excellent kiting spot for people staying at one of the ho ... (more)

That was amazing!!! Went to IV at 9:30am, took some pics and said hey to Sharky, Marv, MF4 and decided it was too crazy for the BIG GEAR so went to Bazan for some Formula practice. It was blowing 15-18 and looked like it was going to pick up....drove to Sidney and back and thought I didn't want to take the heat from Mr. Kus again so I stopped and rigged up the Severne Overdrive 10.0m and FE board with the 70cm fin. George (aka layingtracks) and I arrived at CB (Centennial Beach) at about noon. Looked very promising so I rigged a 5.0 and a 6.2 for insurance. Got out on the 6.2 for 2 short sessions. Planed a little - got in a few gybes but the wind never really arrived. I gotta get thicker booties. I couldn't feel my feet for most of the afternoon. Brrrrrrr! Met Elliott (http://thewindsurfer.com/) and a few other new windsurfing friends and I did get on the water so it was well worth the trip.

Zipped up to CB after work today. Don (Wing Nut) was there almost hypothermic. I tried to convince him to come back out, but the marginal up and down conditions and chilly with the milly air temps weren't tempting. So it was a solo mission with decent waves in up and down wind. Paul came out just after I came off the water. COLD. Not epic.

Only went out when I saw Morewind ripping on the webcam. Classic IV - the wind was onshore and gusty, huge swells and lots 'o logs. Still it was lots of fun. Swells were super smooth at first then it got a little choppy. Great for backside riding and hits. Cold on the hands, but not too bad.

:D :D Some great waves for the first 3/4 hr. slashy, smooth, buttery :o somewhat gusty, but that's IV. 20mins on the 5.0, then the rest on a 4.2.

BWD doing some smooth wave riding. GrantM ripping on an 8M in some tough conditions. GrantW out also throwing his patented laydowns. ULR joined later as BWD and I packed it in.

back at work with hood marks on both sides of my face  got to lie low until they fade.

    I like 2006 so far :!:

:D :D :D TOO MUCH FUN!!! I arrived at 11:15am, and it looked perfect 12kts. I rigged up and was on the water by 11:30am when it had dropped a bit maybe down to 8 or 9kts. Jumped on and 2 pumps and away I went. Broad reach across to Sidney and then back upwind toward N. end of James Island. Then back downwind to launching spot. A couple more OP'd runs rippin' with hair on fire, then tried for one more run over to the Anacortes ferry slip but it had picked up to probably 20kts(ish) so I quickly ripped back ... (more)

:D Happy New Year! Had planned a trip south to the Dip & Sip, but it was looking tooooo good in the back yard. The far side was stable and very powered up, but the wind shadow at the beach tricked me into one very wild ride with the 7.5/150... oops. :D With good gusts, easily sailable with 5.0 from the beach, but better with a depowered 6.0 for the holes between the squalls. A nice treat after a windless trip to Maui (although my wave surfing is a lot better now...).... :D :D :D :D :D

Hateful way to start the year. DWD called at 9 am and woke us up. Thankfully Nicole didn't feel like hiking in the rain and wind and gave me the go ahead. Rigged the 4.7 Severne and hung on all day. Could have been on the 3.7 or 4.2 for the second session. Highlight was launching one of my biggest fwds and also the endless rides.
