A bit light but thought I would try it, then switch to kite. Got a few runs, then starting to slog. Swell was really nice with ripping flood tide going by, markers showing current in big way. Managed to avoid walk of shame just barely. Kiting crowd arrived but no coaches, another run, abandon THAT. Kinda awesome to be zipping along in the sun, made crucial heli on starboard tack (my weak side) and stayed dry :twisted: for kite practice. Gotta love progress.

Started w-surfing & rigged kite to lure crowd in hope of finding a coach. Good thing asking about crossed lines :oops: Practicing bailing. Learned to launch & waterstart, land. TOB as it were. thx Grant for the time. Mucho confidence builder, getting the feeling for the thing and rigging things correctly. Beauty sunny day at IV, nice & steady for moi, not enough for most 14's or 16's to rip but perfect for learning once again. Gotta love that sandy beach :P :P :P

I was alone at cattle point as I emerged from the dark threatening ocean, (seeing as we're approaching Halloween...) The night was cold crisp and dark. came by sipping a tall cold one just to watch Mf4 w/his 7.5 & freighter as wind sucked in town, lo & behold wind ripping/capping @beach, Peter said it just came up, full on/over 6.0, too scary speed so dropped to 5.2 but holes too big, gusting at times to 4.5, waves small due to ebb but fun anyway. Spooky sailing into darkness w/3 others, almost sailed into marker pole in bay & 2x over Mf4 :shock: Mark last off needing a headlamp :P

Wow, great end to the wind drought. Got to Willows at 4:30, Kus & Peter running equipment back and forth as fast as they could, I was 20 min behind. Wind up and down and a bit gusty (typical SE), well OP at times, downwind and sheeting in hard, hold on and keep supple and relaxed or you'll crash - great fun. Only made 3 or 4 dry jibes in the flat water behind the breakwater island, but happy anyway.

Woke up at 6am to a dismal series of lighthouse reports. Went back to bed for an hour and then rechecked reports. Looked a bit better so Wingnut and I headed up to CB. Arrived to utterly piss-poor conditions and RD standing around with a 6.7 rigged :evil: . Mattdog was riding the skim board on a 12m kite (I think). Plained right off the beach on my 5.5 had a few excellent runs and then it died.
I decied to rig up 6.7 (why? :shock: ) and had light wind sess in the shalow section ( could have stayed on my 5.5 for that ). Finished up my session with another couple of planing runs.
Too bad I had to go to work. The wind picked up the minute I left the beach.
....And after reading all the posts above now I need a real session!

Wind was very light but it had been two weeks since the last session and I couldn't bear to stand around so I did a downwind run and walked back three or four times. Finally it filled in enough to stay upwind. A little better after a half hour. The wind faded for a bit then came in again. Then it got goofy again. Still, nice to get out! JL and Mike were persistent and got some more TOW.

:D :D :D :D :shock: After a fully wound up session at CB, I arrived home to a well powered up "backyard". I took out some rigged gear (7.5 way too much but ready to use) and had a great high speed session (52.3 kmh). Nice way to finish things off. The wind on the far side of Nanoose Bay was easily 5.0, which made things a bit nuts "can you say sheeted out" with big gear...... :D :D :D

:shock: :D :D :shock: :D :D Arrived in time to be on the water @ ~3PM. It has been an epic day @ 4.2. I (foolishly) try one reach on 5.0, then back in for my 4.2. After a while, I came to the humble realization that 4.2 was way over powered (way). When I got back on the beach, a few with low 3m2 sails were getting ready to sail. Fun Fun and certainly humbling to feel the power of nature. "This sure ain't Nininat!!!". :D :D :D
