Pretty much a repeat of Friday except a later start. I managed to get on my small board today with the 7.5. Pretty powered up for an hour or so and then I switched back to the bigger board.

Nailed 2 heli's today fully powered, one each way. Got around on most but lost the sail at the end. I thought they'd be harder to learn. Feels pretty good to have some tricks in my bag now  Also tried some duck jibes but I think they'll be a bit easier to learn with a smaller sail

Good times with RastaPA ... (more)

Arrived at 12:30 and the wind was up. Not quite enough for my small board so I used my wife's RRD. Sweet board. I was blasting all over the lake. There were maybe 5 or 6 windsurfers and a few kites. The mast cap on my 6.8 broke right as the wind filled in so I missed the best wind as I was slogging back to the beach. Went back out on the 7.5 and sailed until about 6pm or so. Started working on heli's and managed a few in the light winds. Relaxed in the sauna before bed.

:D After a day of looking out at the gusty howling strait, I arrived home to find Janet, Aaron & Michelle rigged up and heading out. A few nice tacks on the 111/7.5 with the right gusts, but a long walk on the wrong ones had me out with the Go. Sailed till dark, and saw a large porpoise or small whale blowing spray at the channel... (not an orca, but still a bit spooky...). Looking forward to the winter SE storms.....

Reports say otherwise but it was marginal 5.8. Fun in the big leftover swell but the weeds were annoying. More onshore than the southeasterlies and light close to shore so I wasn't really able to go down the line on the "other" tack the way I had hoped. Nice sunny morning to be out on the water but stoke was in the basement.

Rigged the 9.8 but soon relized that would be way to much. Supper fun on the rollers off the point but couldn't open up the slalom gear as there was so much stuff in the water. Didn't want a repeat of a couple of years ago when I hit a log going 50 km/h and broke everything.

:D A few quick tacks with the 9.8 suggested that the 7.5 would be plenty.... Lots of overpowered screams in the gusts (45.7 kmh by GPS), with sailing getting better into the dusk. Janet is planing in the straps :) (6.0/150L), Michelle spent the evening sorting out upwind sailing (3.5/180L) and Mike had the wildest rides yet on his rig (6.5/180L). We all sailed into the dark, and it really kicked up after dark (>24knts!!). An excellent session!!! :D :D :D

1.50 hours Grant Macpherson Custom One of a kind 149
    Ocean Rodeo Bronco 12m
Gusty! But fun too :) Started out as perfect 12m (17-20?) but by the end was gusting sometimes higher than 25 (judging by the spray from the waves and the odd yank on the kite). Windier aloft too. Definately should have been on the 9 by the end!

Say, four of you windsurfers gave the EXACT same wind range estimates. Coincidence? Or are people getting lazy

Rigged up the Formula and Serverne 8.5m and ripped out of the beach, not hooked in and not in the back strap out a long way!!! Got dialed in on the way back in...YIKES that was fast, lets do it again.

The huge rollers that were coming in off Clover point were amazing!! Had to ride down them sideways or I'd catch air and crash and burn!! Nice sunshine and warmth...could be the last time without the ol' wetsuit. Too nice in shorts and a rash guard!!! YES ... (more)

Well I got there just as the locals finished a sunny, warm, steady 12M session. I made the wind drop long enough to set up my 14M. Wind came back in strong and punchy. I lasted 5 minutes then came in for the 12M. Back out and the fog came in like winter. Fog horns from the freighters sounding. The seasons seemed to change (about 3 years worth) from summer to winter to summer to winter as the fog swept through. Awesome lighting and colors through it all. The wind steadied out a bit for the second half. Luc ... (more)

Managed to finally sail at Maryhill after 3 failed attempts throughout the summer. Sailed for an hour on the 5.2. Was a bit up and down and never really came up to what they were forecasting. We decided to bail and hit Lady Luck once again. Had a marginal session on the 4.7 for an hour before we broke out the wobbly pops.

Hit the Hatchery for the first session on Friday. Spent an hour on 4.7 before the wind dropped and we decided to change venues. Rowena was 4.7 but gusty. Sailed an hour and a half before changing down to the 4.2. The Gman and I spent another hour and a bit between Doug's and Rowena playing in some smooth swell before getting scared and running back up before the wind dropped all together.

Two smooth creamy smooth hours. Upwind to Muir creek and then a nice downwinder towards Otter point. On the water at about 2:30 off at 4:30.

Wow! 2 for 2 in September. Can't recall ever getting out in September before.
