    3 foot ramps
2.00 hours Starboard Trance (Wood) 94L
    Ezzy SE Wave 5.5
Driving to Kelowna Sunday afternoon...saw the wind in Nicola Valley. Took the turn off to Nicola and sailed out of the windsurf pullout before Quilchena (opposite side from Monck Park). Awesome overpowered 5.5 session...could have been 5.0? Big ramps and nukin' wind out in the middle of the lake. Made Nitinat seem flat by comparison. I couldn't keep the Trance from jumping. Was about 6 other local sailors there.

After Carmanah hike, got back to a little frontal wind - missed it, decided to slog happily :) Caught another frontal cell, beautifully powered on 7.5 made about [color=red:8143e07ed7]6 FULLY PLANING GYBES IN A ROW [/color:8143e07ed7]   yelled happily for a while so then fell on the next ones. Surreal, mystic sailing with fog and misty rain, could hardly see across the lake.

Wind was light but promising when I got there at 4:30. rigged the 5.6 and waited till 6pm when it was getting lighter and was just about to pack up. Then it quickly filled in to shore so I went out and found lots of wind outside. Sailed for 1/2 an hour and came in to rig the 4.7 at which point it suddenly dropped off. Woo hoo.

Very intereting conditions today. Chopy confused seas comming from all directions for a while. Gusty warm wind with holes, then a blast of hot air pushed through. I could instantly feel the temperature difference on my hands. More dirty wind then it went real smooth and steady for 10 minutes. Back to dirt after that. Good exercise and still fun. What happened to the old Gordons days of steady cold wind and damp fog?

Almost a repeat of Friday but with a bit less wind. Big slog out but rewarded with plenty of power on the outside. Big swell today but once again at the wrong angle for starboard jumps. Gotta get on the port jumps! Jibes were about 90% today. Finally :D :D

Thanks for the hospitality Pasta Bro!

Got lucky and caught an afternoon session. Just enough wind on the shore to get the 14M in the air...barely! Once on the water, could pick and choose the conditions depending where you went. Outside had the usual small chop but with some swell; inside at tugwell creek was flat with ripples and REAL NICE SWELL rollling through; Muire Creek was ripples to small chop and no swell. Sunny and warm all afternoon. A real fun day! :D

Got my quick snappy jibes dialled in. THAT feels good :D

It took a while to get on the water today - Winddoc and I watched the 4.0 action for about 3hrs. Tried two forwards and came out of the straps on both. Was hoping to try more but there was a lack of SB ramps (although the pro guys seemed to have no trouble). Gave up and works on tacks, Hoss, Heli's, boomerangs on the little board. A good mellow day.

solid 4.7 on the outside, but some work to get there, slogging in 5-10 knots. lots of S in the wind, could almost sail parallel to the beach. likely the worst starboard setup for looping i've seen :( gave up looking for ramps. but, if I could loop on port then it would have been a huge day. lots of heli tacks, other safe tricks. Big windsurf crowd today - Jose, PastaDood, and sailor-sailing-with-PastaDood.

:D Yummy half day at the lake. I foolishly thought that the wind was slowing down, and ventured out for a few reaches with a 6.0. This was a bad plan, but it is quite amazing how when overpowered, you can get way upwind  . I made a quick stop well above the river to fully flatten the sail, and after some wild runs, got back out on 5.0. Nailed 3 jibes, including a decent carve jibe. :D

Had the stoke on for the first 4.7 session, lots of forwards, crashed vulcans. Going for more height in my loops before hucking now. Still love that g-force - spinny sensation. Second session: not so much. Ended my second session by smashing into the hidden under water shallow rock near shore and getting hucked (in a bad way). My fin has taken a beating this trip. Sailing in boardies again is so incredibly nice after being shrink wrapped in neoprene on the coast.

A fun day. Tried two forwards right at the start. One was in a gust and I rotated around so fast it pulled the back strap out of the insert. Didn't hurt too much though. It was gusty and hard to find the right wave/wind combo. Spent the rest of the time working on vulcans.

Best day at Cook in a long time. The swell that was rolling in was more like swell from a 4.0 day....SAAAWEEEET! Nice steep ramps for trying backloops...the little success that I was having has seemed to have disappeared...lots of back splats. Had a few really nice lip smacks.

Hey RG - you and me agree perfectly on the wind. Must have been the same on the water as aloft- challenging! Difficult wind, but still fun enough as it allowed for some jumps and returning upwind, so can't be too picky. But far from normal Cook St. conditions (what else is new this summer?).
