Went to the Wall - it was 10-30kts so we headed to Rattlesnake Cove aka #9. Just me, Trev, Winddoc and Morewind on the water. It was strong at first so I rigged the 3.5. It worked for a while, then I cut my foot on some glass at the launch :evil: . Fixed it up then went back out on the 4.0. Great swell, several backloop attempts and vulcans.

Really fun session despite the nasty chop and huge gusts. Mostly 18-23 knots but got rocked by a few 30 knot blasts. Wicked flat water speed jibes right at the beach. I love watching the looks on people's faces (:shock:) when I come ripping in at them at Mach 10 and then lay into a jibe about 20 ft off the beach. They must be wondering if I'm going to run right up on the beach!
Went out to visit the cruise ship that was moored in the Straight. Pretty big boat.

Well, the JL report held out - arrived on scene at 2, and watched the wind line arrive onshore almost at 3 on the dot.
Second time on the board (booya!), but stayed up way longer this time.... Too bad the wind croaked; I spent almost as long cleaning seaweed off my lines and doing the walk of shame as I did OW.

:D Sounded & looked like a great day, so I spent some of the sailable time riggng sails & setting up camp. Winds died early, and it got stinky hot. Still managed a few hours of sailing, but it was a good day to enjoy the fine summer weather. Visited with George & family at the campfire, and threw lots of sticks for the dog..... :)

Got up at 8 and the sky was already clear and blue everywhere. It’s already getting hot. The inflow started at about 10. Looks like it’s going to build slowly. On the water at 1pm on the Carve 121 and XXX 6.2. George and I headed upwind past the river and did about an hour and a half of reaches. Sweet riding. Headed down to the campground at about 2:30 and hopped on the Kombat until 4:30 when the wind started to wane. By 5 pm the wind had died and we were off the water. It was sweltering hot. ... (more)

Always nice to come around the corner and see white. Sailed with Gman from 1 until 4:30. Classic Nitinat. Raced up to the island. Managed to make it there first and on the small board to boot. Shut down like a switch had been thrown at 4:30 and got friggin' hot. Nothing a few wobblies couldn't cure though.

Got up at 9. The sky is overcast everywhere. At about 10:30 it started to clear in the NE end of the lake. At noon the wind came up and by 12:30 I was on the water on my 121 and 6.2. At about 2 it cranked up a notch and I down hauled the 6.2 and headed out on the Kombat. Was overpowered at times but hung on for a lot of great rides. Am trying to get some jumps in off the swell. Megaheli day, trying port ones, very close bunch of times but none yet :evil: 1 on 1 buoy racing, fun but tiring to hold form & making every gybe regardless of how pretty. Gorge day 1. Big change from the coast. HOT and no shore break to get thru. Out with BWD, Winddoc, Dunkinguy. We owned the place. where is everyone? Hucked around 10-15 loop attempts. nearly sailed away from a couple. a couple of non-existent rotations too. Dunkinguy and Winddoc gave me some mentoring on the move. best setup I've had - head on 2-3 foot swell.

A great day at Dougs with Winddoc, Trev and Morewind. Wounds on hands are really sore now. Morewind hucking loops. Trevor hucked a HUGE one handed forward right in front of me. Wow. Tried lots of back loops, vulcans and some shove its. Light wind Thursday then the Hate starts again Friday...hopefully a Wall day.

The wind came up at 12:30pm. Went out on my Carve 121 and North 6.2 at about 1pm. It was a little gusty at times but the wind held in through most of the day. At about 3pm I switched over to the Kombat 95 for about an hour and a half then back to the 121. Got off the water at 6:40. TOW ~ 5.5 hrs. Phew! Had some nice campfire conversations with a family from Edmonton, then Azat and Perter. Drank too much wine and staggered to bed.

Rode the Naish 'cause it looked lighter. Wasn't. Still fun trying gouges, backloops, forwards, good times. Dave was getting some nice aerials. Great session, nice evening sky, looking forward to a cold beer and warm clothes when I realise I hid the wrong key to my truck. After a short freakout, Mike drove me into town and we called AAA. 15 min later we were back in bidness. Off to the Gorge!

FOGGGG. Wind sailable 1130 til 6:30, taking it slower cuz I'm hurtin', Ibo's not cutting it. Megachop today for some reason, went out early and then again late. Weird fold tanlines on the ol' gut from reading :D . Drinking in the sun doesn't help you sailing, once again confirmed. Drag Racing with bud(d)s.

No fire tonite, too windy again, early bedtime; the crowd and kiters are gone!

day 4 camped on the Jetty. Another day in wind/wave paradise. Another day of blowing sand, cool temps, and spray.
More great riding. Hucked 2 loop attempts, got around completely on one. Got taken to the cleaners on the biggest set of the day.
Day ended with Winddoc locking keys in car. A short hour later we had a AAA person on-site to get back in.
Gorge time. Drove 4 hours and van camped at the secret pit in Hood River.

Smaller waves but a really fun session. Good rides and about 10 back loop attempts. Hands are really sore. Last day at Florence today and we all head back to Hood River. Lasted 8 days on the Jetty - sweet!
