Sailed board shorts and rashie all day! Warm! Tried to start on 5.8, too lazy to switch booms, but finally gave in as wind was building very slowly. Had a few powered-overpowered runs on 7.5 and switched back to 5.8 (du-oh). Wind still built slowly, when 5.8 uncomfortable switched to little board and 5.0, was surprised that it felt almost as powered as 5.8. A little too much actually, but some outhaul cured that. Going back was a royal treat! Jumping on port off the backs of the wavelets..... yammy.....
The rest of the day was pretty much the same as Saturday. Except the boom breaking part.

Bear Creek Blowout slalom races at Harrison. Got there at 11:00 am, placed was packed, Bobson already there, hot and sunny. Wind started at 2:00 pm and blew steady 15 - 18 all day. I was perfectly dialed on the 8.5 all day. Nice enough to wear a shorty at Harrison. Went in the slalom races which started at 3:30 pm...what a blast at the jibe markers. Was last off the water with Bobson (of course) at 8:00 pm. Epic Harrison day. I won a Dakine T-shirt, Chinook base plate and tendon foot and Dakine ... (more)

Had a great powered session riding down the line, and managed a few linked bottom turns and off the lips. Unreal. Pure sand beach for miles.

Sailed at Rivtow for the morning while waiting for the wind to fill in for the downwinder to Bear Creek. 9 of us left at 4pm in 8-10kts, there were holes down past the island but it picked up at the end for the last 30 mins nicely powered going downwind by myself. Ended 8 out of 9 people....gotta practice my lightwind stuff. Next time I'll know where the holes are a bit better. Lotsa fun!! :D

Started 7.5 then wind quickly built. Went in to rig 5.8, by the time it was rigged it was 5.0, sailed 5.0 and 89 litre board nicely powered for about an hour, it dropped off, had a few runs 5.8 on the board before it dropped even more. Tired enough I didn't bother with 7.5, could have sailed another 1 or 2 hours. First jibe a classic planing step jibe, then couldn't do another as good the rest of the weekend!

Worked on my tacks (got some finally), 360 (almost), occasional boomerangs (lame, very lame), clue first waterstarts, lots of duck jibes.

I missed the early wind but had a nice session none the less. In passing the breakwater, I tangled my fin in a small mooring rope that looked deeper :shock: and because I was on a full plane at the time, I retired my NP9.8 in one second (2+ panels blown, rips in mast sleeve...) still managed to sail the shredded rig back home on a plane.

Got out and was the only guy planing. Caught 3 nice waves and rode one a little too far down the beach. On the way out I got cleaned out by a monster and it broke the mast below the boom. Eventually washed in way downwind. It sheared the skinny mast (suposedly an unbreakable Hookipa wave mast). Borrowed Winddocs bottom section and had some more rides. Big waves, light wind, fun but challenging.

A solid 7.5 day with ~0.5 hours of 6.0 for me. I sailed ~1/3 of the time on the 111/7.5, with ~30 min on the 6.0. The rest of the time was on the Go, and in the gusts, it really was a GO..... Where oh where are the winds of summer' :)
