:D :D :D That is why I've got big gear. It was slow to pick up...finally at 1pm (as Vic said) it past the 8kt threshold...I jumped on the Starbord Formula 156 and Neil Pryde RS3 11.0m and took off across this totally smooth lake....fella's on the beach were exclaiming 'DOOD, there's not enough wind!!) I beg to differ.....it was perfect Formula conditions..super smooth and steady wind....I shot up to the river mouth then down to the boat launch....YahooOOO!!!! Poor other souls sitting on the beach. I could ... (more)

Report said 14 knots and I only had an hour so I thought I would only bring the Go150 and the 7.5m sail. Pulled up and met Bean who let me know it had just cranked up to 20 plus. Ran home, got the small board and sail and went out. Beauty day in the sun. Got home and ended up sailing with the fam around Gabriola, this place doesn't get any better.

Nice day at the beach - except the bay was almost empty, litterally

    - at first there was only enough water for two kites inside the boats, it was brutal, and even that was pushing it, but later it filled up to a more reasonable level. It kind of reminded me of kiting in a puddle!

Anyway, good day overall, nice weather, good to be on the water again.

I hadn't been to Columbia in a couple of years. Even took a wrong turn on the way there. I'll have to get there more often though. Sweet 4 hour session. Nice little shore break to play in and I didn't even have to look over my shoulder cause I was the only dude out there. Man that's a fun place.

Picked up to 15 so I took out the Hypersonic for 1 hour and max'd out at 46.6 km/h. It picked up again to 18 so took out the Carve 121 still with the 8.0 rigged. It seemed to pick up again so rigged up the new Severne 5.5m NCX but it pretty much backed off right then(I think I scared it as it hadn't seem me with such a small sail ever...HA) so took out the Hyper again and cruized fo ... First ride on the Naish Hybrid Wave 85. Weird but really fun! Loving the new fish style boards. Super easy to loop at only 7'. It practically autorotates!! Handled a 5.5 no problem. Boosts air nicely off even small ramps. Managed to sail away from two backs and a few forwards.

Really nice to sail with the crew again at Gordo's. Lots of spinning and jumping going on. Steph's no longer a Gordon's virgin and did great :) .

Got off work early and almost went ot Cook St. but thought Gordo's was a better bet - looks like I made the right choice. Sailed the 4.7 for the first hour, mostly powered up, then went to the 5.6 when the wind came down a notch. The wind was best in the middle where the best swell was. :)

sunvurnt and happy, got my high for the day. :) Once again, the 14 was the kite to have for when I was out (16 would have worked well too).

started out windier, then slowly dropped down. A good hour of the high teens, windwise. Wind slowly got lighter, then came in strong just 8efore 8:00, then really cranked! I was home at that time, however...

NOTE: always spin the 8ar completely, not a half spin.

Got what I asked for - the gang at gordo's and some new gear - love the carbon boom and freestyle fin! Some vulcan crashdowns with arms crossed over face, helis, backs over and under-rotated, and a couple of punishing forward attempts. Smiling from ear to ear! Too bad Gordon's is so far from Nanaimo.

I thought I'd try my slalom gear today in preparation for the summer racing at Nitinat. My slalom gear consists of a 6.8 cambered race sail that I bought for $25 and 2 matching slalom boards which used to belong to some pro. I think I paid $50 for the small one and about $100 for the bigger one. They aren't pretty but holy f%$ are they fast

Well, I managed to score what the locals called a rare day at Jericho. I've never seen so many windsurfers excited about light wind before. We're pretty spoiled on the island :D

It was a nice place to sail though and you can't beat the grassy rigging area and sandy beach......oh and warm water too. The wind was a bit flukey though. It might have had something to do with the hole I punched in my lower panel - bent the knees a bit too much :( Overall, a pretty good time.

not much wind predicted for today. But, the trades were predicted to shut down so I decided to grab some gear. Good thing, it turned into a really fun day. picked up a RRD freestyle wave 100L and 5.8 ezzy. the sail was again new in the bag. RRD board was somewhat slippery on the deck. shop complains that RRDs are slick from day one. could have worn booties but bare feet rules on maui. perfect freestyle day - steady wind. worked on upwind 360s and almost got a couple, falling in at the end. starte ... :D now [b:e23ce5ec20]that[/b:e23ce5ec20]was sweet... Perfectly smooth and lifty wind (no gusts), nice waves off of clover point, and only a few people out. Kited around the corner for a while with Soos (wind was stronger over there) and came back to the regular beach. Sunny, warm, lifty and pretty quiet. Doesn't get much better for the kiters. :D

Thought it might be a slogfest when I left the shore but turns out there was plenty of wind out a little ways, planing the whole time. Nice and flat on the inside, big chop on the outside. I'm sure if I could jump I would have...Still tired from Nitnat.

I spent last week down on the Oregon Coast looking at huge waves and 30+ knots of wind almost every day. I didn't take any gear so I was in huge need of a fix. Desperate as I was I thought I'd test the low end of my big gear. Conclusion: it needs more wind.

PLaned a few times in the puffs but mostly a slogfest. At least the sun was out. Barefeet too :D

If I'd had more time, I would've joined ya'll at Gordo's. Hopefully next time.
