Rigged the 12 & launched Martins 12. Gusty nasty air so landed M. & rigged 9's..Waited for wind to fill in by schlogging in 12 meter conditions! Then it filled in & we had a great run up to muire creek and rode the swell back as the wind dropped...Rigged the 12 again and had a sweet session in the wind driven swell...Lots of smoooth wave rides & bunny hops off the swell...Nice to see Camie & Grant out...

Nice on the inside with the GO and the 8.0 Cranked down to the max. About 500m out I would turn around because the lift offs with the GO were getting ridiculous! I was over powered but it made for better pics from the beach where my photographer was standing.

I thought I killed an otter for a minute there but I think I just nailed a lot of kelp he was playing in. He had the fear of death in his beatty eyes 5 feet ahead of my board. I might have just spanked him coming off the plane and out of my str ... (more)

Lonely session at first. One kite out initially, then six more. I was the only windboardsurfer out until Turtle showed later.

I tried at least 1-2 forwards on every run out. The ramps improved later on in the session, but I was tired from sheeting in so hard, so my last forwards were pretty feeble. I had 2 good ones when I was slightly overpowered with a good steep ramp to launch from. I still don't have the whippy-spinny flat water forwards that Jeff and other sailors seem to pull off effortlessly, but ... (more)

another 4.7 and quattro 83L day at Kanaha. 4.7 was new in the bag. Really liking these ezzys. tempted to buy a quiver. sailed the lower kanaha break with randy. really fun down the line sets. both randy and I had great rides. I was getting some smack :!: hits on the tops, and had a couple of fin out top o the wave slides. really cool action. Had intended to crank a bunch of loops, conditions were good on the reef, but no hate materialized. My friend Graham sailed for a bit, but it got gusty near t ... (more)

On my way to Van stopped at Gordie's cuz of JL's bragging, ha! Got started a bit under, rigged like flyweight BWD :) . Soon switched to larger & larger stuff, seemed to be tweakin' the whole time. Used tougher boom so lines all wrong, went on and on blowing gybes, not planing in huge gusts, go figure. Highlight was one decent backloop, saw BWD pull two on first tack out, nice!! Ruskie forwarded so spent rest of time looking for downwind ramp, nada. Nice sunny day :P :P :P

Fairly mellow session. Main goal was to try forwards so I sailed for 2 hrs with my back hand near the clew. Now my shoulder hurts for some reason. Tried 2 lame ones - came out of the straps and landed on my head mostly. A few backloop attempts. Great to be back at Gordon's - warm, a little choppy but fun.

Great 5.0 session!!! :D Mostly planing with very little slogging. Big Blue ocean, not too cold anymore. Large ramps. Great gybing conditions.

And IT IS windier the more up wind toward the lighthouse you get. I think there is a lift effect happening towards the Orveas Beach cove which drops the wind.

Started on the small board, quite powered, but not owerpowered. Just right to try IT. The best attempt so far. :D :D Landed on my mid back section, sweetest slap I've ever had! Somehow after that wind died off a little, and turned more onshore (wave wise), so no more ramps for me :(

Duck jibes, tried tacks ( still suck ), boomerang (unsuccessful)

    Great session

good forecast so I picked up a 4.2 and 4.7 ezzy and a quatro wave 83L. Graham did not get a coupon for this day. the quatro 83L was a sweet board. Best rental yet. Sailed most of the time with Randy at lower kanaha break. some nice down the line action on 4 foot sets. :D did I mention how wicked it is to sail in shorts and bare feet. no hate thrown again today. it seems as though my hate level is dictated by the people I sail with. Saw the wind picking up at 5pm. Got to Ross Bay at 6:00 and it was on the pumpfest side of marginal. Waited for Steve to arrive, ready to bag it and a new push came in. Rigged and sailed for an hour or so. Upwind almost to Brochie Ledge, then back again. Chased a few boats outside Ross Bay, then headed into the bay in anticipation of dropping wind. Sun setting and no wind near the beach. Pumped to shore. Pretty good sesh for my first time out this year. If you look carefully at the webcam pics 19:16, and 19 ... (more)

Planed by myself for 1/2 hour before anyone else came out to play, last 1/2 hour ditto. Tried kiting for the first time this year on Tom's 14m. Heart pumping, dry mouthed and fairly nervous, I launched with the help of Tom and Grant. I managed to get up after a few fumbles with grabbing the board while flying the kite. Just when I stated to think; "Hey I'm up!", I started to pick up speed and tried to edge the board a bit harder to slow down (not the best course of action). The kite was getting low to the water and was accelerating to warp speed with me in tow. Just as I squatted low to prepar ... (more)

Missed the 4.5 weather of the late morning, but pretty nice anyway. Water WAY warmer than it was in February!!!! Wind came up a notch and made very fast planing jibe, looked like a record speed run for the old heavy board, then [color=red:7f8827b6b3][b:7f8827b6b3]BAM[/b:7f8827b6b3][/color:7f8827b6b3] boom broke  Flipped boom upsidedown (found you have to disconnect rig from board to get uphaul off, kinda dicey), thanks to :?: for stopping to help lash the boom together, waterstarted and nursed it ... Nice... Gusty for Nitnat... Light at the end... Needed a 6.0 because the wind dropped a bit. Atsuko took the best picture I have of me windsurfing yet.

:D Fun day! The wind came up with incredible speed. One moment it was gentle outflow, the next it was hammering in from the opposite direction. Kus was on it first (sorry we missed the big huck!) and was lit on his 5.4 with the wind only getting stronger.

Jeff was pulling perfect flakas, grubbies, spock 540s, etc, etc. Apparently living in Maui over the winters is good for your sailing. I felt shame with a meek old skool freestyle effort. I finally was able to get over my Nitinat loop barrier and threw ... (more)

It looked bad at first - wind blowing outflow and cloudy, then in 5 mins it was inflow at 20+. Evo and 4.5 to start then it backed off after a few hours and the big stuff came out. Worked on all the old school carvy moves and some vulcans.

:D Yay, first day at Gordo's this year. Went there because EC updated forecast to 20 -30 and they actually got it right. Sailed 1 1/2 hrs. on the 5.6/Fish cuz it was light on the inside at first but I was mega powered on the outside. Then it finally came in so I rigged down and went out on the Acid powered up from close to shore. Lots of nice ramps for jumps and rides. The swells were smooth till 6pm then the tide started ebbing fast and it got choppier but was still fun. Too bad the crew wasn't there also. ... (more)
