An expensive day, but thanks to Bryan it turned out ok. Not much excitement on the water - Hoss, Helis, tacks, almost got a couple boomerangs.

Nice session! Tried lots of tacks, duck jibes are not so ugly any more, no forwards today, but I have my magic hat now!

Kudos to [b:827f8fd955]PhatBuddha[/b:827f8fd955] who found [b:827f8fd955]BWD's[/b:827f8fd955] stuff except cash and I-Pod. Damn thiefs!

Up and down 5.5, small ramps, but warm! Injured my left foot for the third time doing forwards since Jan. #&**! Good vibe at the beach today. Lots of stoked people (especially the guy that ripped off Dave's backpack from his van with his ipod, wallet, bucks, and Cher CDs). May Karma be cruel to that spineless thief.

bumpy, gusty and jumpy fun! Rigged for the gusts, went on the 9m as it was the only kite I brought down to the water. Wind was 9m for me, and damn fine, 14m for Tyler(top end?), and 16m for Jan! :o This is the spring wind we missed in April! Gusty though - so nice to have the small kite.

Powerful morning and cruising afternoon.... The wind was quite predictable in the morning session, but at\fternoon clouds dropped things down to cruising. I tried the 180L "aircraft carrier" (thanks Kus) and it jibed like an oil drum..... . Back out for some many km tacks (the length of a reach is decided by how long you'd like to sail, rather than the end of the water.....

    A good day! :D

A gentle introduction to 85 deg water, with endless endless tacks, as well as lots of space for practicing jibes. The latest game the locals do involves logging their speed and mileage with GPS armbands. It's a nice group of people, and they have a patron who is matching every mile over 35/day with $$ for park improvement. The sea turtles are in, and I saw one baby on the road today (being rescued by a ranger). 8)

Started out really NW and we had to sail way on the outside to get the wind. Mostly cruisy/slalom sailing. Then it filled into shore around 8:30pm. Worked on old school stuff - tacks, helis, Hoss, upwind 360s, boomerangs. Way better session than I expected 8)

Fun session on the Cabal skimboard and 17m kite. I checked the Columbia weather station and Ballenas and it couldn't have been much over 10 knots between 2 and 4 pm. At first it was about 7 and I couldn't stay up. At 9 knots the package starts to cruise. In flat water and small chop the skimboard is incredibly smooth riding and quite fast considering it has two 3" fins on it, and with little wind. Going to try some different fin and footstrap configurations, but I am really loving this board for light wind ... (more)

Beautiful evening for a quick sail; tons of sailboats racing in the bay waiting for the inevitable collision during this very gusty day; started nicely powered but having to read the water to keep on plane, managing to avoid holes and gybing in gusts :P staying dry for the longest time; Holes then got progressively bigger after an hour, pumping to plane and barely staying on, too much work! Zipped in and out, shortie sailing rules! :D :D

Kited in a choppy mess for about 30 minutes, then downwinded to Ross Bay, which was nice and smooth. The wind died and by the time we got to Cook St., it came up West. Nice session.
