despite seized up back got there with Ruskie for a full 4.8 sesh :P for a bit, then huge hole near launch made everyone stand around for an hour when finally it came in again, still had to rig up to get to it though which made for bit of work outside, flooding hard as it was. Beautiful non-hate kinda day, nice waves and water, no traffic on (few swiftsure types) or off water which was great!! Few Heli attempts, couple of looping thoughts with no result :(

Nitinat lake doesn't get much better than today. Fog bank sitting right where it should and 30C in Duncan. Sailed the 4.2 fully powered up for about 1.5 hours. Tried to figure out how to do a shuvit...kinda of worked but no real success...maybe tomorrow?

What a difference a day/fogbank can make. Was out on the 5.2, very overpowered and decided to do one more run, them rig down. Of course i get thrown and dinged the nose of my board again. So the day was over that. More board repair for me.

One of the best days I've had at Gordons! Spent the first two hours on the 9M. Nice waves and some swell too. Lots of lift today made for the highest jumps for me so far. A little scary but ohhh they felt good. John and Grant W. were jumping sky high all afternoon on 12's! Martin came out and Christina did both a windsurfing session then a kite session. The last hour on the 12M was real smooth. Saw the HMCS ORIOLE cruise by, and several other swiftsure yachts passed.

Way too much float on the e-rock! Time to acquire a smaller board..
I was practicing my lifts, flying off the top of the lip and getting some good air.
Jibes are not there yet. With all the chop it was difficult. I am just starting to consistantly get the board around but I am still losing my balance. My footing is still not good.
Best wind I have ever seen at Nitnat!
Not sure what the inflow direction is. I guessed West.

well i finally got on the water so im going to log it. after getting skunked 0/5 last week, i got 2 out of three days there this week. tuesday it blew hard but crazy gusty. wed was nice and smooth on the 5.9. worked the port 360s and starboard vulcans, thats all i seem to do. creepy being all alone up there. if youre considering a trip this weekend the lake is quite cold and full of sticks and crap. only seems to blow after 3pm too.

sailed formula w/ 8.5 pumping on the plane with shorts, no harness, ha! Wind switched at 5, got 2 runs with the 6.0 and it backed off, next day waited all day for nothing, buggered out at 3. Screw this place, it's bad enough when it blows there but this was ridiculous. Made it out on fumes, f@@###$ store with no gas (or any non-plastic food items). The cans were full of shit with no paper and the road sucked big....this is it for moi for a long while. :evil:

Tuesday: Geo. and I arrived at Nitinat at abouy 11:00 am on Tuesday am after catching the 6:30am ferry from Horseshoe Bay. It was already blowing so I rigged the 7.5 and 6.2 and went out on the GO 140 and the 7.5 for about an hour and a half from about noon to 1:30. Had lots of good rides up past the river and then some kicking dornwind reaches. The wind came up at about 1:30 so I switched to the Carve 121 and the 6.2. Slogging for the first couple of tacks then it filled in nicely for about 3 hours. Filled in being a relative term. Probably no more than 14 knots. 5.2/84L board at the Gorge or Nitinat is still my happy place but this fills the void quite nicely. Any time on the water is quality time!

:D Really nice session!!!! Doesn't get any better on a 5.5. Can't wait for a day like that again! Sun, wind, ramps. Great sailing with Russian Dude and BWD in a new spot. Good maneuvers guys!! I'm still just trying for the perfect planing gybe - every time. (Realized that you can step in FRONT of the mast when planing on a gybe and the nose doesn't sink - wow.)

Ok can we please get wind AND swell together on the same day next time! Swell yesterday and lots of wind today. A few swellettes at first then they disappeared. Perfect conditions for tricks - great little ramps near the point and smooth on the inside. Lots of vulcan attempts at first, then tweaked the knee and back on one high one. Hoss, 360s, upwind 360s, tacks. Warm too. Good to see Grant, Richard and Ross rippin it up out there.

Good 5.5 session. Could have sailed 5.0, but too lazy to rerig. Quite choppy, hard to find nice ramps. First time out on smaller gear this season. A good warmup! Don and Morley were out. Everyone else was at JR. Saw Joe and Christine, but didn't recognize them with all that kite gear.
