Went for an earlier session as I had a function to deal with tonight. A little light but managed to get a quick session in, got caught in a lull and sucked into the no-wind zone. Short swim and walk and all is good. Reset and tried to get for another quick session, ended up on another short swim off the point.. quick clean up and off to dinner, I am sure the later crew will get the better wind.

13:30 light in the bay but looking possible on the outside. Supersized everything and hoped for some flights. Adequately powered for 30 min chasing a vanishing wind line. Looking upwind in the bright sun, the wind line seemed to be just meters away. I soon realized that the illusion was taking me on a "Three-hour tour". It picked up mid-afternoon with good swell lines. Nice to see the regulars joining in for a late afternoon sail.
Great season ahead!

Started promising then died. Switched to the magic foil. Still dead. Paddled toward the point and was rewarded by 2 more hours of foil time. Sailed to Finlayson Pt. Arrived at Ross after looking in vain for whitecaps off Cook and thought "I skipped dinner for THIS?" However, Tweezer was paddling way out to near the point, and shortly got foiling and so that got Gus and I rigging. I thought the wind would come up and so tried the 12m. It probably would have been good enough if I wasn't a damn fool and did my first reach right toward the Spiral Staircase. I was enveloped in the no-wind zone immediately and had to swim in and deflate my kite and do a long walk of shame. 1st day at the Nat. Road in was best I've seen it. Lots of logging trucks, 6 maybe. Set up camp then hit the water for an hour. 4 kites out as well. 31 kms in an hour. Here for 9 days maybe depending on the weather. Only a few people here, maybe 10-12. Water still chilly but only 2 mill sleeveless and lots of bugs!!

Rigged the 10m as there was barely any wind on the point but once on the water there was lots. Could have been on an 8m easily. Lots of swell and tried a shorter fuselage today with predictable results. Quite a bit of breaching and some difficulty gybing at the start. It all came together at the end.

really good to be back at Ross bay after having been away for a couple of weeks. Got excited on what I saw on the camera at 3 PM. Cleared my schedule for the remainder of the day. Showed up to flat waters and everybody having a good afternoon chat. Just as people started to give up and pack up. Wind all of a sudden took off again. Salivating all afternoon watching the RB Webcam only to show up as the wind disappeared. Got a chance to catch up with some of the RB crew then decided to be the guinea pig with my big gear. Wind really picked up and everyone joined me. I had to come in to rig a smaller foil then had a good session before the wind started to die down. I'm really liking the new Axis froth board.

Another beautiful day on the pond with a good turnout of the RBFC members! A bit more crud about than Tues, but still fun with a little more wind, a little more swell. Even an intermission was scheduled for us to regroup and chat on the beach, then back at it! Lots of the group are starting to downwind swell ride and looking good I might add, way to go gang!! High hopes of some solid wind but it turned out a bit up and down -- still a good session though. Still got to try some new toys out. Finally a decent session on the small Wizard board which is super lively compared to my old one. Gybes are a lot touchier so I've got my work cut out for me. Tried a few jumps with mixed results. Also had on a new high aspect front wing just to keep things interesting.

4 hours and change on the water and feeling it dearly today. Starting to get boosting figured out, had some of my biggest early on in the session. Wind very up and down but managed on the 9, being appropriately powered for 90% of it. Spent most of it on the cook st side but headed over to ross bay for the latter half; nice and smooth over there but a little gusty. Loved to see so many peeps out on the water, next few days looking good aswell, see ya'll there!

Rigged small thinking it would come up, the wind went down and was caught on the inside of the bay with no wind and had a nice walk back to Clover. By the time I made it back the wind was back up and had a fun powered session on the 7m.

Great winds, lots of swell, then it died. Then it came up again for a nice 2 session day. Then it died for an extended period so I went home.
Great foiling with the old tier foilers - MtnarG, Greg and the rest RBYC elite foilers.

Arrived at 5, got the prime parking spot again :) and wondered where the wind had gone, it was blowing at Cook and Ogden, Race was 34. It started to fill in again, I went with the newly repaired wing and decided the big Slingshot board was fun last time and quicker to rig. Was a tad overpowered on the outside, and I couldn't get my balance right to get the downwind flagged out rides i wanted. Came in to rig a safer board leash, and the wind died off again. Weird day: Wind - no Wind - Wind - no Wind
Arrived to lots of wind, then it died before I could get on the water. Then it picked up, then it died. I went out in light wind with the 8m, then I was overpowered. All-in-all, the best day foiling in a long time. Good crew, lots of wind (if you waited), warm weather. Oh, and I made a bunch of Gybes.

It picked up at 630 high tide, too bad I launched at 530. The second half made up for the first with a few locals and better wind near shore. Ended up chilly in the 3/2 but no gloves and water feeling warm. Bonus, no weeds on the rising tide!.

Wind was a bit funky 1st session but really enjoyed the new MA1000. Amazing how early it gets going and turns really well. Some decent jumps but the wind never fully ramped to forecast potential. Lots of the crew out, sunny, warm. Stoked!
