Arrived 5 PM, rigged, waited for wind in the shorebreak. FInally it came up enough to do a few powered runs and a couple mostly schlogging, managed to balance the little board 1st time. Russkie and I went out for a sunset sail when the wind came up again. Derigged by moonlight!

Out on the water, at the "kook" on my crispy new Ocean Rodeo 10 meter.Sweet kite{fast,really stable}Had a really interesting session,gusty as crap,but lifty,and as I live for lift,was not bad.Chilly though. :shock: On the water less than one hour,hands started to suffer.Called it short.

Started out a gusty, two-hands-on-the-bar, time the gusts and jump, then dropped down and mellowed out - holes AND gusts, then a nice half-hour of powered up wind. Then back down again. The 'base' wind varied from 14 to 18. Holes were about 12. Gusts [b:2afe64e551]definately [/b:2afe64e551]over 20! Nice to get out this late in the year! :P

It was gusty crap for the kite and my mistake shoulda used the 9 but ....
Still thinking about getting a windsurfer and 2 sails only for nuclear days. Will put a few more hours on the 9m first. If Columbia is typically quite gusty above 20 knots I cant see having a blast kiting in those winds, let alone impaired safety.
