Experimented with different fuse lengths today. The advance fuse is my favourite for turniness. Then the wind picked up and we got some fun swell. 3M weather - hoping for more of the same tomorrow. Fog bank built in the afternoon and it cranked pretty good!

At 1pm a few participants ready and willing to blindly ignore the lack of wind and make the swim from Feather beach to the wind line at Squamish spit. Finally get on foil near the spit, yet fell off after going too far on the outgoing tack. Around 3 it finally filled in, only to die again around 430. Slogged back :I.

Two sessions, one with my 9m NEO SLS, very nice session just perfect size kite for the wind in the early afternoon. Going upwind, surfing waves back down.
Second session, wind became strong, used my 7m NEO SLS. That was way more challenging, big waves and a very twitchy kite. At times way overpowered. Never the less managed to handle it.

Some very strong wind and fun waves. Way overpowered with a 3.5 m at times. Might need/want a smaller wing...at some point. Bigger news was I managed a 21.1 km 1:49 run in morning along Carmanah and Rosander Main (won't be in the wing GPS track :) but I sure as heck recorded it). It was a damn slog, even with music. Winging in nuking wind on the other hand, with a harness, was more relaxing.

Arrived to everyone leaving and was told the wind was dropping. One solo kitefoiler in the distance. Rigged up the 10m Ultra and foil and crossed my fingers the wind wouldn't get too strong as I get waaay overpowered on this setup; got overpowered.

Well, the winds finally arrived at CC! On the water at 2:30pm in 12-15kts, then it picked up and kept picking up. 53kms and off the water at just before 6pm when it was still blowing 20-25kts. A bit gusty at times but I won't say NO to warm gusty winds. A looong weekend of board shuttle service to my girls and their bf's. Would eventually get out for a brief blast in the warm tropics that is Nitnat!! Sooo hot today, beautiful!!! Lighting day at the lake. Tried my new Sab 940, it is awesome, tons of glide. Nailed a few heelside tacks including my first fully foiling one. Tried Mundell's downwind board with the Army 880 foil, cool setup. Great dinner and drinks with the RB crowb before the family showed up for the night.

How can I even remember two days ago? Used my partner's board to start (she wasn't going out until it got windier), a tad early on the water (taxied for almost 45 min), 6.1 m + HS1850. Hot day @ CC!! Light Outflow all day, turned to inflow at 4pm. On the water in 12kts at 4:30pm. Foiled for an hour then wind died and I schlogged back in 2-6kts for then next 30mins. Ugh! Shower and Ice Cold Corona coming from my new amazingly cold Cooler from Costco. Lots of pumping practice!

Green screen on Model2 with 15kts at Entrance Island. Good enough for an early drive to Pipers. One reach on the 5m happy to beeline back for the 4.0 :)) Mild swell just outside of Clark Rk. Nicely powered on 4.0/1000cm for the first half. Finished the day on the 5.0 mostly playing wavelets at the point. Still a good 15kts when I left.

Early start for a great day at Pipers. Fun morning session with Tug Boat in a reasonably organized swell. 4m wind for the second half. More intensity as the day heated up and by 11 o'clock, around tide change, we got breaking swells everywhere and fine waves at the point.
Thank you BigWingBart for sharing the "Keel hauled at Pipers" incident details. I should revisit my foil safety protocol.

Went out early to the far side as I saw some whitecaps. Took awhile to actually get going. Then went as far upwind as I could, much better with the bigger wing but eventually feels too light. Full day on the same gear. On water wing exchange with Tweezer in afternoon. Cabrinha handles very small diameter and easy on the hands. Got to see a real master moving the XPS around in all sorts of different transitions - very impressive. Saw 80 km on the watch, mowed the lawn for 20 km for triple digits, then ... (more)

Did 1 reach reconnaissance on the big board as was getting mix messages on wind. Plenty of wind a fair ways past Clark Rock so went directly in for a smaller board. Was nicely powered for the session on the 6.5 and 110. Did one last reach after Kus used the gear for a few blasts. At that point the wind had picked up and was overpowered. Then packed it in for the day. Need more sailing to rebuild endurance for the winter. Fun day again :)

Great day in the sunshine and warm water. Started on the cumbersome 5.0 with 15knots and small waves. Wind and swell picked up. Switched to 3.5 and all was well in the Piperverse. Crazy to hear of BigWingBart's keel haul adventure. Glad it turned out ok. I rode flagged out beside that big sailboat for a bit and there was a woman keeping watch on the foredeck. I've had a similar recurring thought of leashes getting tangled up at LB with a whale. Time for a knife.

Slow start, but good finish. Early winds didn't happen, but the noon onward session got better. Making progress, even attempting a foil jibe. Glad the keel hauling wasn't fatal, but big boat people seem to be getting quite lax on entering Nanaimo Harbour. Cabin cruiser on auto pilot was a near miss for someone else. Finished with the 120 airbolt an1440 foil'. Nice to see Kus & Jelly today as well.

Keel hauled at Pipers. A long story. A lovely summer day for wing foiling and windsurfing at my favourite place. I started at 10am on my 7m wing and worked down to my 5m by 1pm. Sailed until 2pm. Lot's of company on the water. Wind picked up into the afternoon.
I've windsurfed/wingfoiled at Pipers for 43 years and this was the first time that I have been run over by a boat. I was foiling outside Clark Rock with big tide waves and too large a wing at 6m for the conditions. (others seemed happy with their 4 ... (more)

This was not a 20knot day but Idefix, some other dude and myself made it work over the early morning shift. Good swell at the outer wind line with lot's of holes there and back. Wanted to get back on my Omen board but conditions were just too iffy and the Ginxu gives me the guarantee of flight....love it.
