quite an adventure just getting to JR. detour thru east sooke. monster wind gusts. I only did a couple of runs and low-key rides -- wasn't having a whole lotta fun in the nuke conditions. Dunkinguy, BWD, and Robby gave it hard for at least an hour. And a kiter named Mark battled the conditions on 5.0 kite.
coming back had the gang stopped for 2 1/2 hrs just outside of JR as a tree came down over a powerline. while we waited, highlight was streaker running down hwy 14 and then Naish (Dunkinguys dog) deciding that he'd try to bite his jewels (did that really happen? yes, it did). got home late to a worried wife. lost a few points for sure.
so, not epic JR, but gotta keep heading out because every once in awhile you score big.
