Logged the starting wind - nicely powered 5.8 for the first hour, dropping slowly, by the end it was 95% slog, 5% plane. The GB weather station shows 24 knot gusts for this time, so maybe we are calibrated low. Made a couple of (barely) planing gybes, stayed dry on most. Did some half-hearted tack attempts on the inside, not seriously going for it.
It was blowing MUCH harder in Sooke Basin before/after. Beer at the 17 Mile with BWD, RD, Brian, and Don. BWD musta hit his head coming off on one of his spinny things, because he picked up the tab for everyone! THANKS DOOD, WE WOULD HAVE DRANK MORE IF WE'D HAVE KNOWN!
