SW 19 - 30 1 foot chop blown flat!

JP Super-X 116L Ezzy Infinity 7.0

Got there and it was blowing 19-20 or so….that was the lull. I rigged 7.0M and went out on the JP SuperX 116L. It had just come down so I thought it was dying off? Out I go and it is good for a while....then it starts crankin’ . I was thinking go rig smaller and grab my small board but I was so lit up. Scared and just hanging on as that board just flies over chop without slowing and enters jibes at crazy speeds. It cranked up more just as I miss a jibe on the far side. Then I was unable to waterstart as I was getting catapulted over and over and over. I found out that you cannot waterstart a 7.0 when it is cranking 25 and gusting 30. I tried about 30 times. Finally had to body drag into the sandy bay on the far side of the lake. At this point I was blowing downwind pretty fast and was thinking I would get sucked into the Harrison River so it was kind of freaky. I was lucky I had a full wetsuit and booties on. It was now nukin’ 25 – 30, white spray on the water and sandstorms at the hotel. After a hot 45 minute hike (of shame) back to the windsurf beach I found everyone was downhauling 5.0’s or out looking for me. I jumped in the kite rescue zodiac and zipped back across the lake and got my gear. Yikes!
