Had a great freestyle clinic put on by Rob and Wyatt who got the freestyle freaks stoked to go and try some stunts. Got some great tips and will be tweaking my forwards technique quite a bit as a result.
The actual freestyle event saw Rob and Wyatt ripping in the lightwinds, but I was unable to do much underpowered as I was. I got in one funky forward splat and some UW 360's, Hosses, helis, bodydrags, but most of the time I was not planing. Tweezer did very well in the light air and had better luck. Jeff S was struggling in the light air too, but made the most of it in the puffs and got the win (Rob and Wyatt were not scored).
All in all a fantastic weekend and it was cool not to feel any aggro vibes or BS that can arise when lots of people with different interests get together in a confined space.
Kudos to Grant M. for a fantastic MC job. I'm sure a professional event MC could not have done a better job, though I bet it was killing him to watch all of his bros rip all day in front of him in solid kiting winds.
Huge thanks also to Bobson for running a race event so smoothly. Thanks to all for your hard work. By the way, the swag was unreal this year!!
