Not a typical Nitinat day. We all were expecting Monday to be the best day of the weekend, but most were disappointed with the frontal-type early afternoon wind, and gusty, holey wind later. The end of the day seemed stormy, with rain clouds moving in. I first went out at around 1pm, and got blown away on the 4.8. :o I was way overpowered at the beach. Windwoman (stuck on the beach all weekend due to a bum knee) generously offered her 4.2 to try (thanks again, Pat), but after rigging, the wind had dropped back down to 4.8 for me. The wind was very gusty at the edges, and holey in the middle. It was quite a frustrating day of sailing, and did not meet expectations. :?
It still provided some practise 'time on the water' for me though, and the weekend of sailing was worth the drive.
After Rob came off the water, we decided to leave, and had a looong drive home in the dark. Probably our last trip to Nitinat this season :cry:
