Rigged the 11 but it was way to light, so I deflated and got the 14 out.
As soon as I put it up the wind kicked in.
Scott, and Kus helped launch me, with a quick line uncross. Then out for some way too overpowered sailing. It didn't seem that windy. But when I got home and found a picture of me, it said 21 gusting to 29. No wonder!
Those gusts started hitting me, and I wanted out. So I came in to the beach a ways down because I fell in and got pulled down very far FAST untill I could get my board back on.
When on the beach, I had to wait to ditch, for a lady to put the leash back on her dog as he was going nuts, like he wanted to eat me.
The kite was surging, and pulling me around still.
I pushed out to kill all the power, but the kite started to invert, and with pull in the kite.
So I just let go because I was getting pulled toward the bank.
The kite ditched on the bank. I pulled one of the front lines, and it was over.
Someone ran up top and ran over to see if everything was alright.(Thanks, I don't know who it was though)
And a passer by helped me get my kite down. (Thanks to that guy to.)
Moral of the story is don't fly a 14 meter SlE when it's gusting 29.
DUH OH!
I'm pretty sure my kite came out unscathed. :D
I still had fun!
This was all after a night shift too.
