Today's word is AMAZING!!! Sunny day, not toooooo cold, foiling with friends and gorgeous Mt. Baker. Showed up and JoeJoe was all rigged up but warming up in his van. We chatted over coffee/tea for 5 mins then decided it was time to man up and hit the water!! it felt pretty chilly to begin with but wasn't bad once out foiling. Didn't head too far out, just in case but had some great runs except port tack was fairly bright so had to pinch upwind to avoid the glare. lasted 40 mins until fingers were frozen so came in and warmed fingers, drank some more tea and Mr. N-S showed up and rigged up quick. We all went out and it was easier to head a ways since others were out there as well. Wind was a bit gusty and sketchy off end of James Island and wind seemed to lighten a bit so we all headed in to warm fingers and drink hot beverages. All out again and foiled with a pod of porpoises and a Sea lion. Wind picked up to 20 kts which made things much better but felt a bit colder. It really wasn't too bad for coldness, once out foiling I didn't really notice the cold except fingers. Well, JoeJoe got up foiling looking great with a huge smile on his face which was a big break through for him. Ya, no one likes a showoff, I think this was his 3rd or 4th session. nice work!! Lasted about another 40 mins and all came in and called it a great session. JoeJoe had some cold beverages stuck in the snow which tasted delicious after a pretty great session. Fingers are still a bit tingly still but I'm sure they'll warm up soon. ha!! I actually thought it would be colder and more uncomfortable but it wasn't. Pretty great last session of the year. 2021 was a really amazing year for foiling. Here's hoping 2022 is just as good which might be tough but I'm hopeful. A couple of big WooHoo's today, great way to end the year!!
