Tried a sup foil dw attempt the day before and discovered that when filled in and high winds the swells by the port authority are the cleanest in town. Unless that fully loaded aluminum prawn boat is hauling downwind. That thing puts out a steep wake that can rival CB at 25kn.
Thought about selling the 93k mast and just focusing on dw with the 73 to minimize how much gear I'm travelling with. Decided to try the 980 with the 93 first. Better glide as long as you stay high. Think I'll keep it for the smaller boards in high winds. With the extra length I might not have fallen the entire session if it weren't for all the branches in the water. Lines of 8ft thin cedar branches up and down the inlet. Thin enough to wrap around your mast and stick on. Good thing, I promised a 2hr turn around and if there were no branches I would have stayed till dark it was so good.
